XLR8R Podcast DNAE Beats – There’s a Wormhole in My Bathroom

Posted in Dub Step, Hip Hop, Podcast, Promotions, XLR8R Podcast on April 29, 2009 by E.N.

More future blapp is coming out of the Bay Area, this time from S.F.-based producer DNAE Beats. His latest promo mix, There’s a Wormhole in My Bathroom, will drop shortly, but in the meantime, he’s prepped this exclusive mashup of tracks off the new release. Worms being creatures who live in deep, dark places, it’s appropriate that the mix is packed end-to-end with bass-heavy dubstep and hip-hop tracks custom-made for all things low-end.

New Peaches Album – Exclusive Stream at XLR8R.com

Stream Peaches’ new album, I Feel Cream, in its entirety, exclusively at XLR8R.com.

XLR8R TV: The Presets

The Presets’ accessible dance-pop seems as breezy as their senses of humor, but—they assure us—each note is labored over. Kim Moyes and Julian Hamilton chalk it up to their classical training and the fact that the older they get, the more serious their fun becomes. Or more fun their serious becomes? Something like that.

Feature: Chelonis R. Jones

The Berlin-by-way-of-New York electro-house maven talks turtles and truths.

LTJ Bukem Fabriclive 46

Posted in News on April 28, 2009 by E.N.

LTJ Bukem is set to mix up the latest instalment of the Fabriclive series.

Bukem, real name Daniel Williamson, has been there since the advent of the drum & bass movement, and went on to become one of the scene’s biggest stars with large international tours and hugely successful vinyl and CD releases.

In recent years, Williamson took a sabbatical from running his Good Looking imprint, before deciding that he owed it to the scene to continue. “I just suddenly became engulfed in a world of new music. This is the music that I represent, and I’ve got to support it, so about three years ago I decided to go for it and get the label going again,” he explains. “Now every day I get up feeling inspired, the music that comes through my computer, the new artists, their way of thinking, their work ethic, everything.” Now he’s ready to reassert his position as one of drum & bass’s finest DJs with his forthcoming Fabriclive.46 CD.

Don’t go expecting a seamless computer-sequenced mix, however, as Williamson is keen to explain. “With the mix I really wanted to highlight what I’m doing as a DJ. I could’ve sat there with a computer and done what a lot of people do: a computer mix, which is great fun as you can do what you can’t do live. But for me personally, I wanted it to be exactly what I do on a Friday night, strictly dubplates and records.” His mixing style may look to more traditional methods, but that doesn’t mean that he’s looking to the past for his track selection. All of the artists featured on the mix represent the future for his label, which is still soldiering on after 17 long years in the game.

Tracklist
01. Greg Packer – People’s Music
02. Tidal – Impressions
03. Furney – Eerie Indiana
04. Villem – Inflated Tear (Madcap’s Remix)
05. Paul SG ft. Eros Forever
06. Paul SG ft. Caine Lay Down
07. Paul SG ft. Andy Sim – Sweet and Fresh
08. Locksmith – 2 Minds
09. Specific – Time
10. Furney – Jambaleno
11. Phatplayaz – Fact Of The Unknown
12. Furney – Rhodeo Drive
13. Eveson – Kodama
14. Furney – Fearz
15. Tayla – Turn It Around
16. Locksmith – I’m Not Where You Are
17. Furney – Rhodes For D
18. Syncopix – So In Need

Fabric will release Fabriclive.46: LTJ Bukem on June 15th, 2009.

Complete with white Grecian interior, tropical gardens and an amazing water system throughout, Es Paradis is without doubt the islands most unique venue, and set in the heart of the mentality of San Antonio, never fails to go off!

Following on the launch, things are only going to get bigger and better, and you can rest assured as the islands clued up clubbers catch on to the blinding line ups and party atmosphere, EV will be the only place to party on Thursday nights…
