Lerosa-Bodytonic Podcast 043

Posted in Deep House, Electronic, Nu Disco, Podcast, Tech House on August 27, 2009 by E.N.

Lerosa drops it deep for 65 minutes with a mix of the undergound, the lesser-known and the odd classic. The Dublin-based Italian has been working on new music since his last release, a remix for Andy Vaz on Yore – but stay tuned, Leopold Rosa has a wealth of new music on the way: ‘Plesso’ features as an exclusive on Tama Sumo’s new ‘Panoramabar 2′; ‘Snakes at No 2′ – a co-pro with Donato Dozzy – drops on Apnea in October, and there’s a return to Uzuri, ‘Night Radio, due in November. Catch him playing records at Studio 80 in Amsterdam on September 18.

2562 -Unbalance

Posted in News on August 27, 2009 by E.N.

Dave Huismans is set to release his sophomore 2562 album later this year.

The Dutch producer’s Aerial album of last year managed to excite both techno and dubstep fans with its synergy of rolling rhythms and sublow frequencies, becoming a touchstone for DJs who were attempting to blur the boundaries between the two genres. While a fully realised micro-scene never seemed to materialise, Huismans has continued to mine this particular sound, although with more of a focus on his A Made Up Sound moniker, which was created to showcase a broken house and techno vibe.

His latest 2562 full-length is titled Unbalance, and although we’re still to hear any of the tracks on the record apart from the wonky halfstep of “Love In Outer Space” (which featured on this year’s Tectonic Plates Vol 2 compilation), we’re assured by Tectonic boss Pinch that his second album will eclipse the template set out on Aerial. “I’ve worked closely with 2562 over the last few years,” he states, “and I can honestly say that Unbalance is an incredible album – it’s one of the most exciting releases that Tectonic has seen to date – it vastly exceeds the already high standard he set himself with Aerial.”(RA)

Hyperdub 5: 5 Years of Hyperdub

Posted in News on August 27, 2009 by E.N.

Hyperdub have finally revealed the full details of their forthcoming 5 compilation.

Joker, Martyn, Cooly G, Flying Lotus, Mala, Ikonika and more are contributing fresh material for the vinyl releases, and all of these tracks will be compiled on the first of 5’s two CDs. Some exclusive cuts will also be on the first disc’s tracklist, with King Midas Sound and Ikonika offering new material, while the long-awaited minimal melodics of Darkstar’s “Aidy’s Girl Is A Computer” will finally see a release. That said, arguably the hottest talking point of the CD is the appearance of the first new solo material from Burial since his Untrue album dropped in 2007. The second disc will act as a “best of” selection, compiling tried-and-tested anthems from the likes of Kode9, Joker and Zomby, and will also mark the first time that Burial’s “South London Boroughs” will be available on CD.(RA)
