Sepalcure – Eternally Yrs

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 27, 2012 by E.N.

Sepalcure follow up last year’s critically acclaimed LP on Hotflush Recordings with a new EP featuring remixes from Kevin McPhee and Trevino (a.k.a. Marcus Intalex), alongside one previously released album cut and one original track.

‘Eternally Yrs‘, originally featured on the LP, makes another appearance on side A, followed up by Trevino’s (Intalex’s moniker for his techno and house projects) upbeat and melodic remix of ‘Hold On’. On the flip, Toronto rising star McPhee turns the classic house sounds of ‘The One’ into a crackly, techno-driven subbass tune. Finally, the emotive ‘Don’t Cry’ hits hard with the trademark staccato bass and processed vocals that Seplacure have come to be known for.

Since the release of their self-titled full length, Travis Stewart (Machinedrum) and Praveen Sharma (Braille) have brought their live act to SXSW, Winter Music Conference, Unsound and have played all across Europe and America.

Release date April 16th 2012

Alix Perez & Rockwell – BALLBAG

Keeping things diverse and distinct as usual both singles are equally strong and will be sold in a special retro Kraftpak sleeve in the style of real cargo.

NSGNL009 features Phace’s upfront STRESSTEST on the A, and Alix Perez & Rockwell’s futuristic BALLBAG on the Bside. Cinematic build-ups, hitting basses and unique vibes on both tracks leave an everlasting imprint.

Teddy Music Feat. Lil’ Nasty, Double S, Lady Leshurr, Scrufizzer, Dot Rotten & Tre Mission – Hoods Up (Remix)

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 27, 2012 by E.N.

Artist: Teddy Music
Title: Hoods Up (Remix) Feat. Lil’ Nasty, Double S, Lady Leshurr, Scrufizzer, Dot Rotten & Tre Mission
Label: Teddy Music
Release Date: 15.04.12
Format: Digital

A follow up to the original with Ruff Sqwad, Ghetts, Roachee and Stutta, the ‘Hoods Up’ remix sees a new barrage of MC’s take to Teddy Music’s unrelenting production for another posse cut – this time around it’s Lil’ Nasty, Double S, Lady Leshurr, Scrufizzer, Dot Rotten and Tre Mission who run the lyrical relay race.

Combining the grizzly styles of Lil’ Nasty and Dot Rotten with the tounge-twisting flows of Double S and man of the moment Scrufizzer – the remix stands up in it’s own right with the new additions to the line-up showcasing the diverse range of MC talent that the resurgent Grime scene has to offer. Lady Leshurr shows once again that she can stand up with the best of the boys here as her signature double-time delivery only adds to the energetic nature of the track and Canada’s own Tre Mission is proof that Grime is not restricted to the UK and can sound fresh with a North American accent without diluting or compromising Grime’s roots.

Both the remix and original of ‘Hoods Up’ are no holds-barred takes on the genre from a producer who is growing with each release. 2012 has already been a landmark year for Teddy Music and by continuing to collaborate with his peers his sound will stay relevant and authentic in a scene that is ever-changing.
