Paco De Moor
Hailing from a small town, this Belgian wunderkind may probably be his country best kept secret, thanks to a hook-laden debut single Morning After that is rapidly climbing up the electro/house and DJ charts internationally.
Born in the early 90′s, Paco De Moor may have been too young to attend the decade’s infamous rave parties but the glow stick-era that spawned smash hits by acts as diverse as 2 Unlimited, The Prodigy and Rozalla left its mark.
Growing up into a musical family, Mister P., as he used to call himself, started to play the keys at the age of 6, when he inherited a synthesizer from an older brother whose interest in electronic music had a tremendous impact on his development.
At only 8-year old Paco bought his first computer, with saved money, and embarked on a precocious training in music production. But it was not until he was 12 that he started to compose full-fledged songs, leading to the formation of the short-lived electro pop outfit The Afternoons.
Taking up the the art of turntablism a few years later, Paco befriended Simon De Vos after winning a DJ contest at a local youth club. They soon teamed up to form the highly sought after DJ and production duo Pickle & Banger.
Notorious for their floor filling live sets, full of pulsating grooves, deep bassy beats and wicked sounds, the duo is also known for its original take on techno, house and minimal, and a slew of remixes.
After sending out demos to various record companies, Paco’s solo career took a turn for the better when the Interscope-distributed label ModyWorks recognized his raw talent and signed him in the summer of 2009.
His first release for the label, Morning After, rode high on the electro/house and DJ charts quickly and is currently becoming quite the commodity.
The single preceded WTF Is Paco De Moor?!, his appropriately-titled debut set to be issued in the Spring of 2010.
At this rate, it is safe to say that by year’s end everybody will indeed know WTF is Paco De Moor.
