Bearcraft – Dark Night

Out 30th November 2009 on Digital Download

TRACKLISTING:
1. Dark Night (Radio Version)
2. Dark Night (Krucy Darkstar Remix)
3. Dark Night (Special 12” Disco Version)

FREE DOWNLOAD! BEARCRAFT’S “THE OMEGA POINT” (ORIGINAL VERSION):

“Dark Night” is the bittersweet follow-up to Bearcraft’s crossover debut favourite “The Werewolf” which gained support from the likes of Steve Lamacq, Larry Tee, Chris Coco, Annie Nightingale, Tronik Youth, and many others.
Rising wunderkind Krucy Darkstar makes his debut with his stunning remix of “Dark Night” – retaining the dark emotive feel of the original and twisting it into a dancefloor destroyer.
Again, a special 12″ disco version is also provided, taking the original and subtley turning its gorgeous synths, moving bass, and haunting vocal harmonies into an elongated dubby disco masterpiece.
It’s twilight in the woods, where nature and the imagination run wild and unbridled. This is the domain of Bearcraft.
Dicky Moore has already held great company in the international music scene after touring the UK, north America and Japan with Scritti Politti, as well as performing with that band at the 2006 Mercury Music Prize ceremony.
Bearcraft’s debut album is a fantastical, mathematical combination of electro uppers and bewitching acoustic slow-burners spinning folk yarns with an abundance of haunting melodies and the loveliest harmonies.
The album’s songs take in reference points as various as clairvoyance, altered states, barn owls, werewolves, castles, empty barns and retro physics theories
Bearcraft is performing live dates throughout 2010 – to keep up with the latest news check out http://www.myspace.com/bearcraftmusic

Chromeo-“Night By Night”Download for free

Posted in Electronic, Nu Disco, Synth-Pop on September 23, 2009 by E.N.

New Chromeo “Night By Night” (mixed by Philippe Zdar of Cassius). Download for free

Chromeo is Pee Thugg and Dave 1: best friends since their adolescence and virtuoso musicians. Pee and Dave met in 1993. “I really didn’t like him at first,” Pee recalls, “because I was with mostly hip hop kids and he was hanging out with the skaters and listening to rock and roll.” But bonding over their shared love for funk, the two became inseparable. After spending the last couple of years in support of their triumphant Fancy Footwork album, Chromeo teamed up with Green Label Sound to offer a sneak peak of their upcoming musical odyssey, and their first original song since 2007: the heroic, guitar-laded, disco masterpiece “Night by Night.”

Jessica 6 Announce Details of Fun Girls EP+Free Byzar remix

Posted in Electro, Electronic, Nu Disco, Promotions, Synth-Pop on September 22, 2009 by E.N.

Jessica 6 Debut EP, Fun Girls, Drops October 6

“Fun Girl (Byzar remix)” Available as Free MP3

Band to Perform Live at a Private Record Release Party on October 6 @ The Box in NYC!

“…Vanity 6 meets Inner City.” – Urb
“…elegantly loping discoid grooves…” – FACT

Click here for a free MP3 of “Fun Girl (Byzar remix)!

Jessica 6 has emerged as something like a phenomena of 2009.

Their spooky and mesmerizing first single, “Fun Girl”, a soulful and languid low-velocity disco track, has been buzzing around the internet way ahead of it’s release, and is now available as a limited edition 7-inch with fold-over sleeve, and includes a B-Side of the emotional ballad “Not Anymore”.

The core trio of Nomi Ruiz as vocalist/songwriter, Andrew Raposo on bass and Morgan Wiley on keyboards met through their involvement with 2008’s critically acclaimed Hercules and Love Affair, an electro-disco outfit formed in the fires of New York’s dance music scene. Their diverse talents coalesced in a sexy sound destined for the dance floor, and after an extensive world tour, the three harnessed the synergy they shared on stage to create original music. They recast themselves as Jessica 6, named aftera character in the futuristic, hyper-sexed 1976 Michael Anderson movie “Logan’s Run”.
Singer Nomi Ruiz was born and raised in Brooklyn. Music was her childhood paradise. As a teenager Nomi gravitated towards a diverse movement of artists dedicated to transforming the contemporary music scene. Since the release of her 2005 debut album Lost In Lust (an album of ballads wrapped around hip-hop heavy street samples) she’s toured the world with Debbie Harry, Antony & The Johnsons, and Cocorosie. Her performance on Hercules & Love Affair’s Chicago house-inspired “You Belong”, a duet with Antony, was compared to Yazoo-era Alison Moyet by Dazed & Confused, and the UK’s Guardian referred to Nomi as “a performer who boasts the spookily effortless air of a future pop icon.”
Andrew Raposo and Morgan Wiley were members of Automato, whose 2004 album for Capitol Records was produced by James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy of DFA Records. Morgan and Andrew have maintained a close working relationship with DFA, most notably by contributing to both the recording and live aspects of LCD Soundsystem and Hercules and Love Affair. Their production company serviced the B-sides for the first H&LA album and H&LA remixes of Goldfrapp, Cut Copy, Chaz Jankel, and Aeroplane feat. Kathy Diamond. Earlier this year, Andrew and Morgan worked with Tim Goldsworthy again on the new Massive Attack album.

Jessica 6 is now preparing for October’s highly anticipated, digital release of the Fun Girls EP and music video, followed by a Spring 2010 full-length album. The EP will include remixes by NYC based producer Olivier Spencer, who is known for his work with Still Going & House Of House as well as a remix by Germany’s Keinemusik, Illbient pioneer BYZAR, and other worldwide surprises.

*ExtraPromo*Bertie Blackman "Thump" (Free download of Wild Turkeys Remix)

Posted in Electronic, Hits Remixed, Indie, Newcomer, Pop, Promotions, Synth-Pop, Video on September 16, 2009 by E.N.

‘Thump’, the single mixed by Dave Bascombe (Tears for Fears/Royksopp) and mastered by Jon Davis at Metropolis London.
“Thump” will be released in the UK on 9th November, the album “Secrets And Lies” released early 2010 both though Forum5

Bertie Blackman “Thump” (Wild Turkeys Remix) Download HERE

or listen via soundcloud(deep dark like she said, emotional track)great remix!!!
We really hope that this track will be at the top,so deep and hypnotic with a little bit of hi nrg,…few years ago todd terry made a remix for everything but the girl-missing,now this

For Bertie, ‘Thump’ captures that “feeling of walking home late at night; your footsteps hit the pavement and your whole body pulsates. You become really aware of your breath and heartbeat”, haunting vocals soar, industrial electronics collide and the track troughs into eerie breaths of quiet throughout.

Constantly evolving as an artist, Bertie continues to develop her sound on ‘Secrets and Lies’ blending electronic influences with her signature vocal style and penchant for brutally honest lyrics in a modern exploration of pop music. “I wanted to do something more electronic and less band-oriented” says Blackman, “It’s dark, but it’s also a pop record”.

‘Secrets and Lies’ is a result of the meeting of great minds including Sydney based UK producer Lee Groves (Goldfrapp, Gwen Stefani) and Francois Tetaz (Gotye, Architecture in Helsinki), Thump was mixed by Dave Bascombe (Tears For Fears / Royksopp).

Bertie delivers pop music with depth. Her voice is seductive, her lyrics are inventive and honest and she mesmerizes as a live performer. “When I’m playing music, I just disappear into what’s going on,” she says, “it all just sort of channels through.” After launching ‘Secrets and Lies’ to sold-out shows in Melbourne and Sydney, Bertie completed a sell out Australian tour throughout August, as well as performances on the Parklife Festival alongside LaRoux, Little Boots and Metric.

Coralcola – Egggirl+summer mixtape

Posted in Dub Step, Electronic, Experimental, Glitch, Mixtape, Promotions, Synth-Pop on September 2, 2009 by E.N.

After tempting ears and turning heads with the recent EP 747, Coralcola is back with a brand new slice of bedroom trance. “Egggirl” is a stunning 10 minute trip of what sounds like Slowdive throwing away their guitars and tweaking knobs in a dark room with Gui Boratto and a bucket full of MDMA. Is it progressive minimal? Is it dreamglitch? Whatever it is, it’s fantastic. Look for this tune on a new EP this fall.

Desktop -Desktop (Free Online EP)

Posted in Electronic, Nu Disco, Promotions, Radio Hits, Synth-Pop on August 31, 2009 by E.N.

Desktop is Keith Thompson from Electric Six and Zach Curd from The Pop Project.

Download Desktop EP
Direct here
or check for more WAV,INFO… here

Desktop is unlike Curd’s and Thompson’s other projects, meeting somewhere between Stevie Wonder, New Order and 80s Detroit techno. Thompson’s thick and driving bass lines and Curd’s rich, reverb-drenched harmonies stand out as highlights of their debut self-titled EP. The EP was completely collaborative from the onset, with Thompson and Curd constantly revising each other’s contributions, at all times pushing for the goal of a better song. Thompson and Curd developed the recordings completely via the internet, never actually working on anything together in the same room.

With all the ambient, axe wielding, lo-fi experimentalists taking over the independent music limelight, Desktop have created a smart, feel-good breath of fresh air.

Keith Thompson plays in Electric Six, known for their hits “Danger! High Voltage” (UK Singles Chart #2) and “Gay Bar” (UK Singles Chart #7). Thompson also is an active member of Detroit’s Johnny Headband.

Zach Curd plays keyboards in The Pop Project, known in power-pop circles for 2008’s critically acclaimed Stars Of Stage And Screen album. Curd also heads up the Ann Arbor, MI based Suburban Sprawl Music label.

Desktop – 12 Inch EP
PRE-ORDER NOW here . ITEM WILL SHIP ON SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2009

This is the debut release from Detroit’s Desktop, a collaboration between Keith Thompson (Electric Six, Johnny Headband) and Zach Curd (The Pop Project). 3 songs on one sided vinyl. with letterpressed jacket.
