Classically trained musician and electro-pop composer Yuksek (aka Pierre-Alexander Busson) is about to invade the US, bringing a flurry of swooping, dance-pop anthems guaranteed to make you hum and sway. Empowered by his previous work with artists such as Chromeo and Amanda Blank, Yuksek’s new album pushes our lovely Frenchman to the front lines, both as vocalist and leading a fierce live band. On Living On The Edge Of Time, he marries the distorted, saturated sounds of dance floor decadence for which he’s known with a more melodic and catchy, pop vibe. Living On The Edge Of Time will be released February 14 on Ultra Records and stay tuned for the “Off The Wall” single coming soon.
Album opener “Always on the Run,” sets the album’s underlying tone of chaos and movement grabbing you with a transfixing vocal melody that submerges you into the album. Tom Furse of The Horrors recently put his special touch on the song and you can download the Always On the Run” (Tome Furse Remix) MP3 HERE.
There’s always been a pop heart beating inside Yuksek’s unique brand of electronic dancefloor bangers. Always catchy hooks hidden between the acid loops, hints of glam and indie infiltrating his energized house beats. Tunes like “So Far Away From The Sea” and “Extraball” from his acclaimed debut album revealed a powerful pop sensibility, deeply rooted into a lifelong affinity to artists as David Bowie, Gary Numan and The Cure, but also a devoted love for Lou Reed circa Transformer, Serge Gainsbourg, early West Coast-rap and the Warp label. Living On The Edge Of Time is the sound of an artist who can’t ignore the muse, a restless producer constantly in motion and a musician devoted to evolution.
The first single, “On a Train” is a true dance-floor anthem that builds to an explosive chorus with a skittering beat that will get stuck in your head for days. On “White Keys,” a hauntingly eerie synthesizer sets a more contemplative mood while lingering over an up-tempo beat. Lyrically referencing the album title, “The Edge” has a pulsating beat sliced by keyboards stabs eventually exploding into a synth-fueled chorus. Closing the record is the 5 minute throbbing psychedelic pop-behemoth “Out Of Control,” complete with finger snaps and a driving bass line.
Continuing his journey of musical evolution Yuksek is prepared to unleash his tour de force sound, making a lasting impression on American shores.

TROUBLE ANDREW ANNOUNCES THE TROUBLE GANG MIXTAPE
Featuring Diplo, Santigold, Spankrock, Amanda Blank, Lil Jon & Many More;
On Tour Now In N. America
After four years of touring, recording, and causing mayhem across the globe, Trevor “Trouble” Andrew returns with the Trouble Gang Mixtape, an album caliber collection of new bangers and remixes. Featuring an incredible range of collaborators including Lil Jon, Spankrock, Amanda Blank, Santigold, Diplo, John Hill, Stunnaman, Hollywood Holt, Curren$y, Ninjasonik, Jackie Chain and many more, the Trouble Gang Mixtape is a ride-out blend of all the musical styles that Trouble encompasses from punk rock to hip hop and electro and everything in between.
Trouble himself describes it like this, “I was in the process of recording my new full length Trouble Andrew album ” Dreams of a Troubled Man” and the mixtape came together on the side because so many friends and artists were around hanging out and recording shit through the process that we didn’t even realize I was making a mixtape until we had it finished. It was cool to do a project that didn’t really have to be consistent or have a story except that we all are individuals. That’s why I love mixtapes.”
The Trouble Gang Mixtape features the Trouble band with Ian Longwell aka The Super on drums, Joao Salamao on guitar, and Masa Takaku on bass and features production from The Kickdrums, Diplo, John Hill, Trouble & The Super, Jonathan Benedict, Doc McKinney, Circut & AG (Lets Go To War), Yeti Beats and Olly Burden. Most of the mixtape’s contributors are featured on the limited edition cover art created by Thom Lessner (from Sweatheart).
The Trouble Gang Mixtape releases on the eve of Trouble’s new nationwide tour and will be followed up by several new releases from Trouble this summer. For more check out: http://www.myspace.com/troubleandrew. Full tour info is below.
