The Cycle EP

FREE Remix of “The Cycle” by Midnight Sun available HERE

Introducing Emilie Simon’s latest release, The Cycle EP, with remixes from Midnight Sun (the remix/production guise of Andrew Raposo and MorganWiley of Midnight Magic/Jessica 6), and Ultramars (Emilie’s alter ego).

In honor of The Cycle EP, Emilie has created a T-Shirt that’s available in the Emilie Simon Boutique (here). To celebrate the launch of the boutique, she is also selling autographed copies of the album on both CD and vinyl.

Emilie has been quite busy this year. She just spent the summer in France recording the motion picture soundrack to “Delicacy”, a movie based on the eponimous best-selling novel by David Foenkinos and starring Audrey Tautou. The novel is coming out in the US on December 6th, and the movie has also been picked up for a Stateside release.

New York City’s Jessica 6 release their debut album, See The Light, today on Peacefrog Records!  In celebration, the band has released a brand new b-side MP3 called “East West Funk”. Described by RCRD LBL as “bongos, bass, and fly-ass disco fusion” the song is perfect for your next summertime party soundtrack.

Check out the “East West Funk” MP3  HERE.

For an early listen of the full album, check out See The Light streaming in its entirety on AOL Spinner today!

See The Light opens with a classic-in-waiting, the behemoth of a single, “White Horse”, that forces you to move like a witch doctor would. “Champagne Bubbles” is the kind of gritty R&B that isn’t afraid to be as angry as it is melancholic, its piano flourishes punctuated with a heavy kick and snare. “Prisoner Of Love,” which bridges electro and freestyle, featuring a soaring vocal melody that finds Nomi and guest vocalist Antony weaving their voices around each other to a stunning effect.

Jessica 6 has been commanding dance floors for years, globetrotting from London to Miami, San Francisco to Santiago, Bergen to Belgrade, seduce the dancing, sweaty masses with an electrifying blend of disco, soul and R&B.  In celebration of their debut release, the band hits the road once again with their hypnotic live show, kicking off with an album release show in NYC, then hitting Philadelphia before heading West for a run that includes a stop at San Francisco’s Gay Pride stage.

New York City’s Jessica 6 creates soul music in its purest form, no matter the tempo. Their debut album, See The Light, moves from pulsating electronic sheen to uncompromisingly rugged R&B, and back again. The band released the stunning debut single and anthem-in-waiting “White Horse” last month. Now fans can hear the new track, “Prisoner Of Love,” which bridges electro and freestyle, featuring a soaring vocal melody that finds Nomi and guest vocalist Antony weaving their voices around each other to a stunning effect.

Jessica 6 is fronted by the beguiling and beautiful chanteuse Nomi Ruiz. Equal parts high-fashion and street smart, her smoky, emotive vocals are matched by her spellbinding style. Her lyrics create a world full of enraptured lovers, endless nights, fame-seekers, and broken hearts. Bassist Andrew Raposo and keyboardist Morgan Wiley deftly meld disco, hip-hop, electro and classic house, commanding you to dance while simultaneously making your heart sink.

With See The Light, Jessica 6 have created a raw portrait of life in the city and of all the highs and lows that come with it. The album takes you from your stoop to the dance floor, eventually landing you in the back of a cab as the day is breaking.
