Reblok – 2AM (Stream+free download)

BEEF052Beef Records is proud to present a very diverse underground house EP by young and promising Serbian artist Reblok. ‘2am’ is a great example of raw, oldschoolish but still powerful music – as we call it: “proper dance floor material”. Especially when you add a remix by the talented and always hard working Brasilian beauty Joyce Muniz then you have a deadly cocktail of electronic beats. Joyce Muniz is part of Shir Khans Exploited ghetto – collective of chart topping house artists (Claptone, Homework, Adana Twins, James Silk, Andre Crom…) and she is currently all over the charts with her debut EP on the mighty 2020 vision records. As an addition to the title track and remix we also have disco infused affairs called ‘Miss You’ and ‘Williamsburg’ co-produced with Beef records head Dj Schwa (Large music).

James Dexter - System Check EPUpcoming London producer James Dexter joins the Lost My Dog ranks with a four tracker taking in slow-burning deep groovers through to bumping, funked-up cuts.  His ‘System Check EP’ is a perfect representation of the sound LMD has pushed over the past eight years and another example of the label not being afraid to work with talented producers in the early stages of their careers.

At 25 years old Dex has already amassed a number of noteworthy releases including tracks and remixes on Om Records, Salted Music, Nervous Records, Beatdown Music and Static Audio.  His remix of Miguel Migs’ single ‘Tonight’ reached the number three spot in the Traxsource Top 100, with his own single ‘Give Me Something’ on Migs’ Salted Music not far behind. He has also recently released a track on Shades Of Gray’s Beef Records and has something in the works for Large, alongside remixes for Solid Ground and Bump Trax.

Already Dex can count a number of high profile DJs as fans – Fred Everything, Moodymanc, Karol XVII & MB Valence, Evren Ulusoy, Giom, CJ Mackintosh, Dale Howard and several more are all supporters of his music.

Shades Of Gray was born following Czech national Schwa’s move to Australia in 2005.  He soon teamed up with local Nick West both in the studio and as a partner in Beef Records. They quickly gained a reputation as one of the hottest acts on the Sydney underground scene and it wasn’t long until they were touring internationally performing from Tokyo to Moscow and Paris to Prague.  With support from the likes of Shur-I-Kan, Miss Kittin, Jimpster, Pezzner, Laurent Garnier and Miguel Migs, SOG have clocked up over 50 releases including the sales chart topping ‘Moog in the House’.

The album is a definite progression for SOG, heading deeper into sampling territory and drawing on what’s come before to define their vision of the future sound of house music.  Reinterpreting influences from soul to disco through the sharpened lens of 2012 production, SOG have delivered a stunning collection of tunes that have that instant classic feel that will remain relevant for years to come.
