Love is the Devil is Blu Mar Ten’s follow-up to the runaway success of previous album, Natural History and showcases another development in the trio’s consistent work at the cutting edge of Drum & Bass, musically, conceptually and technically. From the epic vistas of Into the Light, the intricate musicality of All Thoughts Are Prayers, the brooding darkness of Hollow Men, the sweetness of High Hopes, the shockingly technical Blue Skies and the ethereal Sweet Little Supernova, the album represents two years of solid work and delivers tracks of pure quality from every known corner of the genre and some that have yet to be invented. Love is the Devil is another step in Blu Mar Ten’s mission to stretch Drum & Bass into new forms; sometimes beautiful, sometimes poignant, sometimes aggressive but always lovingly crafted. Love is the Devil features collaborations with a range of talented names from dance music and beyond. Blind Soul: This achingly melodic track features the deft touch of Drum & Bass wunderkind Stray. Whisper: Based on an original track by Dave Randall (Faithless / Slovo), Whisper showcases the vocal skills of dance music legend Kirsty Hawkshaw. The Fourth: A deeply melancholy track featuring brand new US singer / songwriter Jenni Potts. Jenni’s bittersweet delivery brings an unexpected twist to The Fourth’s intricate production. Another Year: Fresh from working on Bonobo’s new album project, Mike Lesirge of London brass trio Killer Horns brings his talents to Another Year in the form of oozing, sultry sax work. Still the One: InsideInfo is renowned for his thundering basslines and pounding drums. Coupling his skills with Blu Mar Ten’s denser orchestration has given birth to Still The One, the first mutant offspring of this unlikely musical hookup. Sweet Little Supernova: Reprising her work on Natural History, Rochelle Parker turns in a sensual and ethereal vocal performance. Into the Light: Having already had his work picked up by Hospital Records, fresh UK talent Airwalker joins Blu Mar Ten to deliver a blistering attack of synths and drumwork on Into the Light, a definitive set-opener for any DJ. Hospitality at Fabric 7th January 2011+Free Blu Mar Ten Mix

About Hospitality 7th January 2011
It’s the first London event for Hospital records held since selling out the 5,000 capacity Brixton Academy back in October. The last fabric event was so large the police were called in to clear the door as there were so many people queueing to get in! The 7th January also marks the first date for Hospital at fabric in 2011, which makes it a very auspicious occasion indeed!

There’s an enormous line up with a Hospital-led Room One for hands-in-the-air business, an eclectic but incredibly on point, genre-blurring line up in Room Two plus a Med School takeover in Room Three taking things on a deep and minimal tip with some very forward thinking acts.

After 10 years of exploring the highways and byways of electronic music exceptional records proudly presents a lovingly assembled sonic collection the likes of which you are unlikely to find elsewhere.

 With a heartfelt belief that there is much much more to electronic music than four to the floor and formulaic hands in the air twelves the label has consistently released a determinedly unpredictable selection of artists and mixes carving out a path lying somewhere between mainstream and experimental along the way

 This deliberately wilful approach is neatly encapsulated in “From Disco to Dubstep”  a wide ranging electronic exploration which joins many of the dots in an ever mutating series of scenes. Released as part of the label’s 10^th anniversary celebrations, the double-CD release features an eclectic selection of 16 remixes of artists that currently call exceptional home. Touching on disco, lounge, electronica, house, electro, breaks, dubstep and more it throws down a challenge to narrow minded purists daring them to look, listen, and leave their comfort zone behind to explore just some of the possibilities that define electronic music.

 This is a celebration of a series of genres that may perhaps seem quite disparate, yet find common ground thanks to their roots in electronic software. Amongst some of the more familiar names on the tracklisting you can find Mock & Toof’s exuberant, 80’s-tinged deep house remix of Plej’s “Borderline”, typically impressive deep 4/4 action from Jimpster with his remix of “Awakening” by Ken Ishii, Tom Middleton’s up for it remix of “All Over Again” by Blu Mar Ten, the bazooka-bass dubstep of The Rogue Element with his remix of Nursery of Naughtiness’ “Electrified”, Reso and Raffertie trading punches,and Planas’ drastically different electronica restyling of Culprit 1’s “Screamer”. and the soulful dubby rework of Tubbs’ “New Way of Life” by Marlinspike (aka hot property Red Rack’em/Hot Coins ), featuring the chocolatey vocals of Joe Dukie. The whole package is completed with CD 2  providing the many splendoured original versions of the remixes featured on CD 1.
