Download:Franskild – New single ‘Genesis’

Franskild - New single 'Genesis'Since their initial support from BBC Introducing, house duo franskild have become one of the latest rising names on the international dance scene. With their debut album expected later this year and a string of remixes for Maya Jane Coles, Style Of Eye and most recently Crookers, the Swedish pair are looking to erupt onto the dancefloors of nightclubs across the globe this summer with a free download of their latest single ‘Genesis’.

Following on from their critically acclaimed single ‘Clockworks’ earlier in the year, ‘Genesis’ has captured the pure essence of summertime house and instilled a touch of sunshine to this party-ready release. Its minimal format and intermittent vocal hook gives it a truly irreverent sound that sets it apart from the majority of humdrum house music on today’s scene.

franskild will be making their next major festival appearance at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival on the 30th June.

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , on September 20, 2013 by E.N.

BOT & TAI “Nuthin But Fire” EPProducers BOT (formerly of the world famous Crookers) and TAI join forces on the newly released Nuthin But Fire EP, available now on Dim Mak Records.

Combining BOT and TAI, two producers from starkly different backgrounds and genres, could be risky. Instead, the result of this sort of collaboration evolves beautifully with the release of the Nuthin But Fire EP, four tracks of teamwork genius. Totally unique and impossible to categorize, the Nuthin But Fire EP stands heads above the rest with its blend of jungle and ‘90s breakbeat sounds. In the presence of two producers who truly understand what it means to make groundbreaking music, Nuthin But Fire blazes through the speakers and provides a sound that is unforgettable.

Mike Mago ‘The Show’ (Stream)

Ministry of Sound has led the return of house music to the top of the UK singles charts in 2013 with hits from Duke Dumont feat A*M*E (No.1) and Chris Malinchak (No.2), and with summer finally here, Mike Mago’s ‘The Show’looks set to continue their run.

One of the biggest tracks of the moment, Mike Mago’s ‘The Show’ has become a staple for the likes of Zane Lowe, B Traits, Pete Tong, Toddla T and Danny Howard on Radio 1, with further support from 1Xtra’s Trevor Nelson, Cameo, DJ Target and Semtex, and Kiss’s Steve Smart.

‘The Show’s upscaled Chicago house vibe and sparkling piano break has ensured wide club appeal, with DJ’s such as Rudimental, The Magician, Crookers, Josh Wink, Tensnake and beyond making it an anthem across a thriving global club scene – from Ibiza to Croatia, and LA to Sydney.

Michiel Thomassen, aka Mike Mago, heads up Amsterdam-based BMKLTSCH RCRDS and has been curating what’s hot from Dutch soil and beyond for several years. His own tracks such as ‘The Power’ and ‘The Soul’ quickly brought him attention from the world’s leading blogs, which then became plays on specialist shows on Radio 1 and beyond.

Mago’s DJ schedule takes him all across Europe with shows in London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Lyon, Hamburg and Ibiza, playing festivals like Tomorrowland and clubs like Ministry of Sound. He’s currently busy in the studio working on a string of remixes for A-list artists as well as more original music.

Remixes for ‘The Show’ come from Friction, Friend Within, Louis La Roche and Patrick Hagenaar.

deadmau5 + Imogen Heap ‘Telemiscommunications’ (Out 12th March 2013 on mau5trap/Virgin)

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , on March 11, 2013 by E.N.

deadmau5 Telemiscommunicationsdeadmau5 & Imogen Heap’s single ‘Telemiscommunications’ will release via mau5trap/Virgin on 12th March 2013.  This delicate melancholic song is a very different direction for the mau5 which sees him drop the tempo dramatically. It has been co-produced with Imogen Heap featuring her signature lyrics and melody. In the closing track on his latest album, >album title goes here<, we hear one voice of a phone conversation between two lovers. Whether it’s a battle with bad signal, public announcements or kids screaming, the friction develops during their precious little time to talk.
In wanting to extend the creative vision for this release, deadmau5 and Imogen Heap decided to do something different with the video. A global competition was set up to search for budding animators.  20 individuals were selected with each animator taking ownership over their own segment, working in their own style and medium.  These were then edited together to produce a remarkable video.
deadmau5 and Imogen Heap will be hosting a Google+ Hangout on March 12th at 4pm GMT (11am CST), where they will talk about their collaboration face to face for the first time. At the end of the broadcast they will be premiering the video for ‘Telemiscommunications’ which will be here:
The release bundle will feature remixes from CrookersCopy Paste SoulJohn Roman and Kölsch.  Italian artist, Crookers, speed things up, serving up a series of sparse vocal stabs with a side order of tough house beats.  Kompakt artist, Kölsch, also ups the tempo, but his is a much deeper affair that juggles Imogen’s vocals deftly with his hypnotic rhythms. London based producer, Copy Paste Soul, transforms the track into a soul quenching deep house/bass number that should please UK dancefloors. Finally, Canadian upstart, John Roman delivers a stripped back tribal techno version, reducing Imogen’s vocals to a haunting hum on its verses.

With a range of established boutique festivals nearby, the new Hideout festival speaks to the heart of electronic music fans securing the most cutting-edge artists and outfits from every genre of the underground dance music community.

Friday opens proceedings with the godfather of techno Sven Vath supported by Wax:On residents People Get Real. One third of award-winning band The XX, Jamie XX, performs outside for Resident Advisor’s takeover of Aquarius stage, fresh from his stunning new album with Gil-Scott Heron alongside deep house don and Innervisions frontman, Dixon and the Bristol’s dubstep pioneer, Julio Bashmore. The much-lauded Chase & Status, who have achieved an anthemic no 2 single and album of late and worked with the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Plan B, Tinie Tempah and Cee Lo Green take centre stage on Ibiza’s Reclaim The Dancefloor area alongside BBC Radio 1’s Toddla T. Joining them will be young bassline pioneers Nero, Friction, Rattus Rattus & Klose One and new super talents Modestep.

Some stellar unannounced guests are yet to be announced on Saturday for Hideout promising to blow all other festival programmes out of the water. King of the electro circuit, Erol Alkan joins Radio 1 queen, Annie Mac and disco heroes Aeroplane and Eskimo Twins, who all promise to deliver some fine flavours on the outdoor Aquarius stage. Simian Mobile Disco bring their enigmatic partnership to Hideout following their swift rise to prominence over the past few years. On the Metropolis stage, Aussie bassline masterminds Pendulum join female Brit & Mobo award winner, Ms Dynamite, who has scored chart hits with Katy B and Zinc in recent months. Fabric resident and dubstep luminary, Caspa, steps up with UK icon Redlight, who starred on the cover of DJ mag last year and Sub Focus, hailed for his club anthems, ‘Could This Be Real’ and ‘Splash’ joing Metropolis regular, Mak.

Pitching up on Sunday are label of the moment, Crosstown Rebels featuring head honcho, Damian Lazarus. The label’s young prodigies have become techno’s new elite, showcased at Hideout in Jamie Jones and Detroit’s Seth Troxler, who are also DC10’s newest residents. 2011’s newest stars Art Department pen their ‘gothic house’ sound with this year’s BBC Introducing talent, Robert James.

For fans of drum & bass and dubstep, Hideout’s Ape stage brings the veteran crew out to play on Sunday unveiling the legendary Andy C, one of D&B’s original heroes joined by the similarly prolific Shy FX, who enjoyed a string of chart successes with their appealing sound. More jungle delights come from leader of the pack, Joker, Breakage and Hospital Records maestro, Danny Byrd on the Ape stage. Wax:on stamp their identity on the main stage with an exclusive duo yet to be announced, Italian heroes, Crookers and the raw talent Fake Blood alongside Eskimo Twins. The Warehouse Project and Electronic Music Group have utilised their wealth of experience to bring together the most prolific stars of the past, present and future in a new idyllic spot in a line up of epic proportions, never seen before in Croatia.

Hideout takes place from Friday 1st July until Sunday 3rd July at a brand new location on the beautiful Zrce beach on the Island of Pag. The west coast of the Adriatic Sea is renowned for its crystal clear waters and picturesque rugged shoreline. Hideout festival 2011 is perched on one of finest beaches in the area that runs the entire length of the island and is surrounded by a variety of bars, restaurants, watersports and attractions.

The site features two vast outdoor stages, one indoor/ outdoor venue with views over the sea, two outdoor swimming pools, and large VIP area.
