Given an exclusive first play on Mista Jam’s show on 1Xtra on Jan 5th, ‘Heartlight‘ has since racked up 1Xtra spins from Jam, DJ Target, Twin B, CJ Beatz, Adele Roberts, DJ Cameo and Sarah-Jane Crawford, who made it her record of the week. ‘Heartlight’ made noise this weekend at BBC Radio 1 after they awarded it ‘Trending Record’ ahead of this week’s Number One! The track has also been well supported by Toddla T and Annie Nightingale over at Radio 1.

The single started life as an instrumental – ‘Polygon‘ – which was well supported at BBC1Xtra by DJ Target, Mista Jam and Nick Bright and by DJ Pioneer over at Kiss FM.  Already a deeply funky track with a catchy hook, it’s the addition of a stunning vocal, provided by Taylor Fowlis - one of Liverpool’s most exciting rising stars – that lifts ‘Heartlight‘ into hit territory.

TS7 is no stranger to the team at 1Xtra - they’ve championed him since his days at the forefront of the UK’s bassline scene. He was the man responsible for the bassline remix of Estelle’s number 1 smash ‘American Boy’. Best known for his underground hit ‘Raise Your Glasses’, TS7 has also worked on some big remixes for Tulisa, Afrojack, Lethal Bizzle and Yolanda Be Cool.

 

Passion Pit debut video for “Carried Away” featuring Sophia Bush,On tour in North America now

Passion Pit is set to launch “Carried Away,” the second single off their critically acclaimed album Gossamer.  Today the band released the track’s official music video directed by sibling-duo Brewer (Alt –J, Purity Ring, War on Drugs), starring actress Sophia Bush and Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos.  “The music video was shot in Los Angeles and tells the story of a love/hate relationship through a playful Godard- inspired narrative that follows the couple throughout their home,” explains director-duo Brewer.

Passion Pit fulfilled a dream last week by headlining to 14,000 people at Madison Square Garden. The band’s monumental day was captured in a  “Day in The Life” piece by Rolling Stone, who trailed Michael Angelakos as he prepared for the biggest sold-out show of the band’s career.  Following what Rolling Stone called a “tight and triumphant” performance at Madison Square Garden, the band returned to their hometown of Boston, MA for a sold-out performance at the 6,000 capacity Agganis Arena.  Eight months after the release ofGossamer, Passion Pit is completing their largest tour to date with upcoming performances in Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and more (see full list of dates below).  Passion Pit will additionally make festival appearances at Coachella, BUKU and Sweetlife.

2012 was a monumental year for Passion Pit, with their sophomore album Gossamerdebuting at #4 on the Billboard’s Top 200 and yielding Passion Pit’s first top 5 alternative single with “Take A Walk.”  Additionally, Passion Pit performed “Take A Walk” and debuted the band’s follow-up single “Carried Away”  on Saturday Night Live last fall.  With the momentum of a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden already under their belt, 2013 promises to be another momentous year for Passion Pit.
