The Artists
Marko Nastić was at the forefront of the Serbian club scene during the countries most troubled times, gaining accolades from Mixmag, The Face, DJ and NME. He was behind techno label Recon Warriors and later Recon Light as well as being a member of DJ crew ‘Teenage Techno Punks’. Following the war Marko’s distinctive three-deck style allowed him to DJ across Europe and around the world. Since 2006 he has presented ‘Music For Body And Soul’ on the countries leading radio station, B92. His previous releases have graced labels such as Recycled Loops, Earresistible Musick, Night Light Records, Tronic, Sleep Is Commercial and many more.

Mau Mau began his DJ career at the legendary Madame Sata Club, São Paulo and is classed as one of the pioneers of the electronic music in Brazil. His individual style and skills fuse a mix of house and techno with Brazilian beats and swing seeing him feature on Mo Music, Trama, Tropic Records and more.

Re Dupre continues the São Paulo connection, with the owner of the Miami Underground Records and Miami Sessions Records having remixed the likes of Dirty Vegas, Paolo Mojo and many more. He had previously featured on the Noir Music, Klimaks, Aenaria Music and Adapt Recordings.

Elemental X completes the Brazilian line up, returning to Clash Music after his ‘Follow The High Heels EP’ release. Andre’s also had releases on Lo Kik Records, TMM Records, Different Is Different and more since he started producing back in 2007.  He has grabbed the attention of big name DJs such as Dave Clarke, Dubfire, Mauro Picotto, Eric Entrena and Anthony Pappa.

Darren Rice -”Akira”(Incl.Anodyne Remix)

“Akira”
Darren Rice
Heavy Reel – HVRL003
Beatport Exclusive: 19 May 2011
General Release: 02 Jun 2011

1.Akira
2.Akira (Tom Hades Remix)
3.Akira (Anodyne Remix)

Riding high at number one presently in Dave Clarke‘s chart with his remix of Wilko‘s “Work Ya Body” and garnishing wide support for his recent outings, this next release couldn’t have come at a better time for Darren Rice. The follow up to his previous “M9” release is “Akira“, a three track EP featuring remixes from Tom Hades and Anodyne.

The original, as with the whole EP, gives more than a nod to the real, how it was and how it should be, Techno. It twists and turns it’s way morphing to climax with clever, modulated and machine-like melody changes. Lead along by an ominous, evolving and somewhat other-worldly synth line we’d liken to a Wookiee being castrated. It’s angry and it means business. Chewie beware.

Tom Hades‘ cleverly reinterprets Darren’s original making extensive use of the palette provided. He delivers as only he can, a track which from the offset develops with offshooting stabs, intricately timed delay hits and dollops of Hades’ signature groove sauce splattered generously over the mix like a cheerleader come Monday morning at Charlie Sheen’s.

Rounding off the package we are delighted to have on board Anodyne who delivers a stunning 90′s hardcore, rave-infused remix. Through nostalgia-inducing vocal and synth stabs coupled with sequenced melody programming Anodyne illustrates why he is favoured by many including The Black Dog and Autechre whom recently remixed singles from his “Corrosion” Album which dropped last year on Psychonavigation Records.

Bangin, innit.

EMN : Heavy release,Anodyne remix is our fav. dont miss this one!

Nachklangmusik – Cern Technology Remixed

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 22, 2011 by E.N.

Right now as a type Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Anton Banks, Jamie Anderson, Sam Birrell (Elektrosoul) Anderson Noise, Nitzan (Fine Art), DJ Mourad, Jamie Behan, Phillipe Caminade, Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir, Trevor Rockcliffe, Mr Spring, Jeff Jonas, The Hacker and Orde Meikle (Slam) are just a few names of DJs/Producers supporting Nachklangmusik‘s original Cern technology EP and his other releases.

Tim Treubrodt aka Nachklangmusik has progressed a lot in the few years he has been producing and remixing with Nice & Nasty and its off shoot Dublin Xpress.

To count Garnier, Clarke and Shakir among his many growing fan base is quite the achievement; however, the interest in collaboration and remix duty for Tim’s work is intense and here Tim and Nice & Nasty have collected a superb array of remix talent to further showcase the beauty of Cern Technology.

Nasty Bobby and Tomas Jirku are part of the Nice & Nasty family and have been recently blowing up the clubs and charts with their So Long Lost and I am A Wild Party releases, respectively; Carlos Nilmmns aka Ross MacMillan (Solab) and Erell Ranson are practically second cousins to Nice & Nasty and need very little introduction; however, F.L.O is a new voice to the choir and a fellow German.

There is a preview of each mix so I wont bore you with my hyperbole and biased account of how each mix sounds. Listen to it as the music speaks for itself. Each mix is labelled techno but there is Detroit techno, Deep House, Classic Detroit, Ambient and tech house all on show.

What I will say is that there is a bonus mix on this release ‘Carlos Nilmmns rework’ that will not be released officially nor to be available beyond this promo and too good to be left in some file on a server to collect dust.

Tracklist

Nachklangmusik – Cern Technology Remixed (Nasty Bobby Speaking in Tongues Remix)
Nachklangmusik – Cern Technology Remixed (Erell Ranson 313 Old School Dub)
Nachklangmusik – Cern Technology Remixed (Carlos Nilmmns Tangent Remix)
Nachklangmusik – Cern Technology Remixed (Carlos Nilmmns Rework (Bonus Mix for Promo Only))
Nachklangmusik – Cern Technology Remixed (Thoverstam Remix)
Nachklangmusik – Cern Technology Remixed (Tomas Jirku Remix)
Nachklangmusik – Cern Technology Remixed (F.L.O Remix)

DJ Mourad – Sea of Soul(NANO105)

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 16, 2011 by E.N.

DJ Mourad is one of the hottest producers of Detroit techno. He is uncompromising in his love for music that originated in Motor City, USA. Mourad is clearly inspired by mssrs Saunders, Atkins and May; however, his own work pays homage to Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir, Underground Resistence and Red Planet and it is of no wonder he has released on Wallshaker, Accelerator, Lace, Enjoy, Quadrant and Minimal Soul for example.

Last year Mourad released ‘Patterns & Sketches EP’ on Nice & Nasty and gained tons of support, no less from Dave Clarke’s White Noise Radio show. Subsequent remixes for The Parallel, Avlina Red & Manuel Perez and Katsuhiko established Mourad as a Nice & Nasty family member and led to the release of Sea of Soul EP that is currently supported by Detroit Techno Militia, Nachklangmusik, Solab and Larry Cavelle to name a few.

The eponymous track gets remixed by Nachklangmusik, Vikte and TCane. Nachklangmusik continues with his deep love affair of melody and deep grooves whilst Nice & Nasty new boys Vikte (UK) and TCane (Germany) go for deep house and tought grooves and hard, minimal grooves, respectively. This is some serious dance floor action.

This promo features the original Sea of Soul EP plus the three new remixes. Your feedback is grately appreciated. Nice & Nasty is an Irish based label that features Marco Bernardi, The Parallel, Mark O’Sullivan, Derek Carr, DJ Mourad, remlaB, Katsuhiko, Rob Glennon, Nachklangmusik and T-Polar among others. We are always looking gigs to showcase our talents, so get in touch direct.

Sea of Soul EP will be released at the end of April 2011
Sea of Soul Remixes will be released at the end of May.
Nice & Nasty via EPM is available on all good digital stores.

Sea of Soul is already being supported by DJ Morpheus, Larry Cavelle, DJ Seoul (Detroit Techno Militia), Nachklangmusik, Dave Clarke and many more.

Ian O’Donovan – Aurora Borealis (Henry Saiz & Marc Marzenit Rmxs) (preview+free downloads)

Ian O’Donovan
Aurora Borealis (Henry Saiz / Marc Marzenit Rmxs)
1. Aurora Borealis – Henry Saiz 70’s Remix
2. Aurora Borealis – Marzenit & Saiz “Atitlan Remix”
(Bedrock) Bed90R
Release: 14th March 2011

John Digweed’s Bedrock label continues its inexorable rise with yet another stunning release showcasing two superb remixes of a track that caused quite a stir in clubland last summer when Ian O’Donovan (one of Ireland’s fastest rising stars) unleashed the uplifting techno of “Aurora Borealis” on Bedrock.

This set of fresh remixes from two of Spain’s finest – Henry Saiz and Marc Marzenit – are going to very big indeed. When the fizzing tic-toc intro surges into the hook-filled melodic vibes and analogue grittiness of Henry Saiz’s 70’s Remix, you know you’re onto a winner. He even introduces a stunning slowdown half-time dub extravaganza section that shows proper remix creativity at work. Teaming up with Marc Marzenit for their Atitlan Remix, Saiz and his partner create a tight, snappy tech-edged, tension-filled builder, with lashing of funk ‘n’ swing in the groove. This is one of those tracks that will take your dancefloor to the next level.

Henry Saiz was born in Madrid, and is one of his country’s fastest rising future stars through his quality productions and amazing live sets. He has created his own style, a complex and emotive form of electronic club music, which brings together melody, intensity, depth and maximum attention to detail. Here, on these two remixes, he shows exactly why he is such a highly rated producer.

Who is Ian O’Donovan? After spending much of his youth listening to various styles of music, Ian came across the world of underground electronic music. It was so refreshing and different to all the formatted songs and “cheesy” dance tracks of the time, he quickly began to immerse himself in this music and the scene itself. Influenced by artists such as Steve Rachmad, Underground Resistance, Technasia and DJs like Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills and DJ Hell, Ian began DJing and seeking out the records that would go on to play an important part in defining his sound.

It wasn’t until he moved to Australia in 2005, that he began to create his own tracks, slowly teaching himself and developing his sound. After nearly four years living in Oz, Ian decided to return to Ireland in 2009 and focus more of his attention on making music, determined to help break the cycle of the boring, soulless “minimal” fad that had dominated house and techno in previous years.

With early support on many of his tracks from the likes of Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, Dave Clarke, Anderson Noise, Hernan Cattaneo, Psycatron and more, the future looks bright for Ian with hot releases like this on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records.

“Aurora Borealis” is a massive track, which is already getting big plays from Laurent Garnier, but “Horizons” and “Indigo Eyes” are also very exciting productions from this very talented young man, that shouldn’t be ignored.
