An exciting new project is emerging under the name – We Are Noize. A group of friends fronted by Maxim of The Prodigy have joined together in a collective to create music outside the norm, without limits or boundaries. Their first single ‘Dollar Flick’ is set for release on Monday 12th May through their own label also named We Are Noize.

Their sound, you can hear within ‘Dollar Flick’, is bouncy and bassy but edgy and cool, with many minds working together in order to create really forward thinking and unique music.
Never caring about people not getting it, We Are Noize strive to create their own following and get people jumping around the club.
We Are Noize are a group of friends who all share the same passion for music. Whether it’s experimental, or a sound that just doesn’t follow trends, they realised that they all had the same vision – to write and produce good music.
A new side project by Maxim from The Prodigy who plays a big part in the creative direction of the group, his thoughts and ideas are reflected in the music and from there We Are Noize build on them to create something never heard before. An exciting new project to keep an eye out for, We Are Noize firmly believe that if you create your own lane, there is no traffic!

Worthy -Disbehave

Posted in News with tags , , , , , on April 24, 2014 by E.N.

Disbehave5

One of the four founders of Dirtybird Records, Worthy is a San Francisco resident who creates bass-driven electronic music thats breaks all the rules. From his anthemic collaboration with Eats Everything on Dirtybird to solo hits on labels such as Leftroom, Trapez, Discobelle and his own Anabaticrecords, Worthy has forged a unique musical identity that is infallibly enforced by the release of his debut album.

‘Disbehave’, is a genre-defying rebellion against the house producers status quo. This album cannot be confined to a category, nor can Worthy be caged in with his colleagues. You will find some homage to the Dirtybird sound on tracks like ‘I Get’. But this album departs from his usual booty tech beats, into a broader sonic experiment as he forges new alliances with future bass, downtempo, breakbeat and deep house. You can hear the broadness and complexity of sounds on tracks like ‘On The Floor’ featuring Kevin Knapp (Off, Hot Creations) with its heavy bass to the beauty of swelling chords and swirling vocals on tracks like ‘The Words’featuring Audio Angel. Reminiscent of the early days of the electronic sound movement that were less imbued with genre stereo-typing, ‘Disbehave’ is an emotional departure into a complex cavern of atmospheric rhythm, eluding to the many moods of the dance music sphere.

Mark Barrott -Sketches From An Island

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on April 24, 2014 by E.N.

Mark Barrott -Sketches From An IslandCertain places have a history that allows things to happen outside the norm. Ibiza is one of those.  A place where anyone with an open heart can find their space.  A place where maverick thinking still matters.  It´s this environment that in turn nurtured and created the music and style known as balearic.

This is what I call Balearic Jose Padilla

In 2014, a new generation of DJs, bloggers, and house heads are embracing the into-everything mentality that marked out the original balearic beats, including the widescreen, afterhours sounds made famous by José Padilla’s sunset DJ sets at the Café Del Mar and Alfredo´s legendary sets at Amnesia.

Mark Barrott’s ‘Sketches From An Island’ compresses this Balearic heartbeat into nine warm gems which paint a picture of the island, the people and the magnetic beauty that pulses through it.  Recorded in Ibiza´s northern hills using “weird percussion, some slide guitars and a few borrowed synths,” it’s a melodic and mysterious representation of a place seeped in a rich and rebellious history.

Dancing On The Charles Vol. 2

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , on April 24, 2014 by E.N.

Dancing On The Charles Vol. 2Boston natives and world-class house music afficionados, Eli Goldstein and Charles Levine AKA Soul Clap started throwing our Dancing On The Charles parties next to Boston´s most famous river back in 2008. Back then they had no idea it would become the inspiration for a now annual music compilation showcasing the immense talent of Boston´s electronic music producers.
Vol 2 showcases a collection of music that embodies the spirit and persistence that fuelled those epic riverside summertime parties, and continues to guide the Boston dance music scene. Soul Clap are responsible for remixes for the likes of Little Dragon and more recently the forthcoming EP from John Newman, as well as colloborating on material for the legendary George Clinton of Parliament fame.
Dancing On The Charles Volume 2 picks up where Volume 1 left off, and features an even more diverse range of music. An overall deep feeling is this years´ theme, as we dive into a 13 track selection from repeat contributors and new Soul Clap Records recruits.

David K – ‘Out Of Range’

Posted in News with tags , , , , , on April 10, 2014 by E.N.

David K - 'Out Of Range'After more than a decade of notoriety on labels such as Cocoon, B-Pitch and Visionquest, French producer David K’s debut album, ‘Out of Range,’ brings an off-the-radar mixture of romantic melodies on drugs, rocking beats à la parisienne, and sounds to turn you on, released on Tiefschwarz’s ever reliable imprint, Souvenir.

This album has been 10 years in the making. I suppose you could say that this album is a bit like a bedside-table book which transcends all of my influences, my musical history, and my idea of modern music.” David K

David K represents something that’s all too rare in electronic music today: an artist who makes music first and club music second. For him, emotion is paramount, melody is important, the pop format has its perks and original material is always better than a sample. Late at night and early in the morning, he can be found tapping away on his keyboards and throwing together arrangements on the fly (a pianist by training, he can’t bear to make music slouched over a mouse). His only goal is to make something that will keep himself dancing.

sUb modU – Circles EP

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 10, 2014 by E.N.

sUb_modU_circlesThe new project called ‘sUb_modU’ shapes up from the desire of avoiding to choke a growing love simply because it wouldn’t suit the style of the former projects tied to the exploration of abstract hip-hop and future beats with Jazzy Gentle, or to the cinematic sounds/70′s soundtracks (with the Acusmatic Group) and to the past 10 years of jazz studies and performances.
This new love finds its roots in the echoes and the sound of electronic music (mainly analog sound and future-bass music) and, amplified by the Berlin experience, explores a new territory creating a sound that makes one think to the illusion of hypnotics circles translated into music, with the help of phase shifting, overlapping of rhythms and sequences of phrases.

BIO
sUb_modU, Italian producer, musician and composer of electronic music, recently based in Berlin.
Currently focused on analog electronic, slo-mo-tribal, bass music, modal, afrotribal jazz, techno, hypnotic, spacey, and deep atmosphere, he spent the past year working on his first EP, slowly becoming aware that the experiences in his new home city were carving a new creative vein while changing his music.
Owner of Jazzy Gentle project, Co-founder /owner of the Acusmatic Group project, Member of The Beatfonics Crew held several collaborations with Irma Records, Buyù Records, Agogo Records, Wass Records, Roy Ayers Project, Timewarp Music, NoMad Records.

Rude Audio- Ruder EP

Posted in News with tags , , , , , on April 10, 2014 by E.N.

RudeAudio_sleeve_AW.indd
Rude Audio are proud to announce the release of their new EP, ‘Ruder’ on 28th April.
Their newest release sees the group hone their trademark sound, fusing elements of dub, drum and bass and reggae to sensational effect.

Lead single and EP opener, ‘Knockemdead’, features vocals from rising star, Eucalypta LV. The young singer first met the band whilst their producer Mark was playing his regular DJing spot in a Hoxton bar, where she confidently showcased her singing talents over drum and bass hit ‘Fin On A Hill’. She immediately won the group over with her soulful tone and they invited her to collaborate.

While ‘Knockemdead’ demonstrates Rude Audio’s ability to create infectious dance numbers, the group also display their deft hand at weaving hypnotic down-tempo tracks with ‘Crystal Palace’ and ‘Chalmette Honey’.

While the two middle tracks induce an almost trance like state, ‘LV On A Hill’ completes the EP with an uplifting beat and robust bassline, featuring more breathtaking vocals from Eucalypta LV. The vocal melody that the young singer improvised on the first night she met Rude Audio has formed the basis for the whole tune.

Rude Audio’s expansive musical repertoire stems from their large presence on the underground scene and it’s these experiences that have contributed to their endlessly eclectic sound. They describe themselves as being rooted in the back streets of London, which is apparent in their unique fusion and approach to music.

This newest piece of work certainly shows that Rude Audio are able to push the creative boundaries with an EP that both nods to the combined musical influences of the group and looks ahead with its cutting-edge production and rhythms.
