Outlook Festival returns to Croatia this September after last year’s best ever event to date, a celebratory fusion of dub, reggae, hip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass, garage, house and more on the dazzling Adriatic coast. Joining the dots between musical legends right through to the next generation of up and coming talent, again some of the finest live acts and DJs descend upon a 19th century fort for five days and nights of amazing music. Close to the historic city of Pula in Croatia’s northern region of Istria, the now iconic Outlook sets the agenda with a world-class array of performers in a collection of truly spectacular locations, set in and around an abandoned fort. Choose from a dungeon, a courtyard, a moat, a boat, the beach or the festival’s main stage set on a harbour. Outlook combines a heady mix of fun in the sun and under the stars as a dedication to sound culture, which has just revealed its first wave of names.

AMIT ‘Human Warfare / No Mercy’ + Machinedrum rmx (AMAR) 29th July

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 5, 2013 by E.N.

AMAR001_A_SIDE_RGB_9283dbFollowing critically acclaimed releases on Metalheadz,Commercial SuicideExit Records and most recently Tempa, AMIT’s ‘Human Warfare’ and ‘No Mercy’ are the first tracks to be released on his new AMAR imprint, setting the tone as to what you should expect from the new label.

The 12” kicks off with ‘Human Warfare’, a dark and brooding piece acting as the soundtrack to a foot soldiers mind – programmed to kill at any cost without any memory or responsibility of the act itself. AMIT has dug deep into his pool of influences and techniques – half-time metallic drums, paranoid vocals, sinister backdrops and thunderous low sonics drench the track. With a variety of support from DJ’s such as MachinedrumGoldie,dBridgeDoc ScottYoungstaRandallKrust and Loxy, this track is likely to be heard at any night regardless of genre.

‘No Mercy’ was inspired by historical colonial methods of ‘divide and rule’, hence the title. Featuring the spaced out vocals of tag team partner Rani, AMIT is up to his usual dub antics on this one by deploying tribal grooves, staggered organ hits and a thunderous sub. Support for this track has come from Mala,YoungstaDistanceVivekJ:KenzoKryptic Minds and a host of other 140bpm stalwarts.

Machinedrum jumps on remix duties for a special digital only version of ‘Human Warfare’, flipping the rigid feel of the original into a shuffling affair. Drum breaks and ambience float in and out of the music, keeping a sense of flippancy and unrest that propels the track.

Tracklisting:

12” Vinyl:
A Human Warfare
AA No Mercy

Digital 'Manik Mash EP'
Stephen Carr a.k.a. Digital is a well-respected and inspirational producer with a career spanning 18 years. April 2013 sees the launch of his new imprint Mor’Manik – a platform to unleash and explore the diverse and experimental parameters within his sound and production.

Kick starting things with the ‘Manik Mash EP’, this aptly named release is a blend of all things that Digital loves in electronic music. The A side ‘Break A Take’ delves straight into the realms of pure acid-house revival. On the flip ‘Mac Attack’ ignites hypnotic Detroit-esque funk and ‘Wasp Killer’ melts into futuristic tribal dub.

Digital’s 18 years of production consists of four LPs and countless EPs on his own label Function Records, co-owned imprint Phantom Audio and some of the finest DNB labels: Metalheadz, Exit, Timeless, 31 Records, C.I.A, Photek Productions, Innerground, Commercial Suicide and Reinforced Records. His debut release ‘Touch Me’ on Timeless in 1995 was followed up by 12” ‘Niagra/Down Under’ on Metalheadz, but it was his third release ‘Spacefunk’ that really set the marker for Digital. Such a unique track in its time, it was so well received the re-released 12” featured remixes from Goldie, Photek and Doc Scott.

Release date: 1st April 2013
Format: 12” Vinyl / Digital
Cat No: MMANIK001

‘Manik Mash EP’ Tracklisting:
