‘MY GIRL’
RELENTLESS RECORDS
RELEASED 8 SEPTEMBER

Though part of the same Bristol scene that has spawned Julio Bashmore and Eats Everything, The Other Tribe are fast emerging as a musical entity like no other. As comfortable tearing up a festival main stage as they are a warehouse party, their bass-heavy, deep house influenced sound has rapidly won them a growing and devoted fanbase. ‘My Girl’ is the band’s new single, released in September through Sony’s Relentless imprint.

After kicking off their UK spring tour with a sell-out show at London’s XOYO, The Other Tribe (aka James, Miles, Ollie, Alex and Max) are poised to run riot across their favourite stomping ground – the summer festival season – with forthcoming performances at Glastonbury, Ibiza and Mallorca Rocks, Blissfields, Beatherder, Farrfest, Secret Garden Party, Boardmasters and beyond.

A recent highest new entry on the Cool Cuts chart, ‘Your Kisses’ will be available as an exclusive pre-order track for ‘My Girl’. The Other Tribe’s growing discography includes previous tracks ‘We Should Be Dancing’, ‘Sing With Your Feet’ and their debut chart hit, ‘Skirts’.

In between a hefty tour schedule, The Other Tribe have been bunkered down at their studio alongside producer Mark Ralph (Hot Natured, Hot Chip, Digitalism), distilling their hedonistic live show into the tracks that will form their debut album.

Fake Blood Announces New Album, Cells (Stream Now)

Fake Blood
Announces New Album Cells, November 13

In true maverick style, UK’s Theo Keating, has forged his own path as Fake Blood – a hard-hitting, multi genre artist with a cult following like no other. Today, he announces his eagerly anticipated new album Cells, which will be released November 13th via [PIAS] America. In conjunction with this announcement, Keating is streaming the full album on his website. Check out the stream HERE.

Cells is an 11-track distillation of Keating’s surreal vision, an electronic masterpiece skewered by his love of the macabre, the uncanny and the sinister. He has trapped his signature breed of savage, Godzilla-strength basslines and laser-blazing four-to-the-floor inside his very own suspense thriller. On “London,” his jacking rhythm is haunted by taught strings and menacing analogue synthesizers, while “End of Days” is an apocalyptic and cinematic techno opus in which time is running out for whomever is trapped inside the rhythm.

“The album definitely has left-of-center moments because I wanted to show some other facets to what I do and enjoy making,” he says. “Not every track on Cells is overtly made for the dance floor. Some of the sounds will definitely be a bit unorthodox, but, then again, the way I make music is strange to most people: it’s a little bit ‘wrong’ because I never learnt the ‘right’ way to produce.” It’s not all weird-and-wonkiness, though: Cellshas its uplifting moments too, especially on All in the Blink, a twist on the humble funkified electro-disco nugget featuring Keating’s fellow Black Ghost, Simon Lord, on vocals.

Since he released his crushingly infectious single, Mars, in 2008, Keating has released another chart-nudging single, I Think I Like It, remixed everyone from Hot Chip and Gossip to Calvin Harris and Sway. Perhaps what makes Keating an even more captivating producer, though, is that he has cracked the key to what musicians crave most of all: longevity. “You just need a hunger for new music, a curiosity that needs constant feeding and, crucially, be open to change,” he muses. “The enemy is nostalgia. If you can always find stuff that excites or interests you, and let that inspire you to try new ideas, then you can enjoy yourself. That, really, is at the heart of it all.”

If ever that rulebook needs rewriting, we’d give Theo Keating the blood-inked quill any day.

Five Years Of Diynamic-Charity Compilation

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 20, 2012 by E.N.

Featuring reworks of the Diynamic catalogue from Hot Chip, Digitalism, Cassius, WhoMadeWho plus exclusive music from the family.

All benefits of this compilation will be donated to Kinderhospiz Sternenbrücke, an organization that accompanies terminally ill children in the last time of their lifes. The Kinderhospiz is Hamburg-based and currently collecting for a room for music-therapy.

Five years of Diynamic – it´s time to celebrate:

  • founding the sister-label 2DIY4
  • opening a club – EGO in Hamburg
  • sending its artists all around the globe
  • more than 50 releases
  • a highly successful existence

This charity compilation is Diynamic´s gift for all of you.

Spread across two CDs, one to show Diynamic´s current sound and one to cross the rugged borders of house-music and to refresh Diynamic´s past releases.

During these five years Diynamic has become a big family and each member plays a part in their fifth birthday compilation. Solomun, Stimming, David August, H.O.S.H., UNER, Ost & Kjex, DJ Phono, Adriatique, Thyladomid, Hunter/Game and Liem have all produced EXCLUSIVETRACKS for the first CD of the compilation that clearly define Diynamic´s current sound.

On the second CD artists from fresh and diverse genres of music put their touch to the catalogue of Diynamic, making remixes, reworks or straight cover songs from the catalogue. Hot Chip, Digitalism, Cassius, WhoMadeWho and many more have taken part on this charity-project to increase the donation for Kinderhospiz Sternenbrücke charity.

This compilation is a keepsake for both those that have followed Diynamic’s vision over the past years and new introductions. It´s a milestone in the labels history and offers back a reward to those that need it.

Solomon said of the release, “We always had the idea to do something special for our 5 years compilation and that it had to be a charity cd to give something back. We are very thankful about how everything is running and when we heard about the kinderhospiz in hamburg we know immediately that is the right one we are looking for and we decided to spend the money we earned with the project.”
