2012 has undoubtedly been Jack Beats most prolific and prominent year to date. Their Beyoncé remix is still turning heads, they’ve just released the first mini LP ‘Careless’ and the dust hasn’t yet settled on their headline UK tour. Never ones to rest on their laurels, they’ve lined up something rather special ahead of the release of mini LP no.2 – ‘Somebody To Love’.

Progressions sums up the combined parts of both mini albums, resulting in 35 minutes of un-interrupted Jack Beats heat; “The aim of this mix was to produce something a little more special than your average mixtape. It’s a full album length body of original work, summing the best of our last 2 years in the studio”.

Featuring every track off both Careless and Somebody To Love, this is the only place you can hear tracks likeAbout To Get Fresh (Ft Chiddy Bang and OV) and Storm (feat Kid Harpoon) ahead of the release of the mini LP Somebody To Love on 9th December.

As if that wasn’t enough ‘Jack Beats Presents’ returns to FABRIC London on Friday 7th December, and they’ve bought someone rather special along for the ride. Fatboy Slim will be stepping up to the turntables, for his first London DJ set since he rocked up to Stratford straddling a giant purple octopus. This is a rare chance to see him in a club setting, and with the likes of RedlightDoorly & Shadow Child also on the bill, this night is not to be missed.

If you’re stateside don’t fear, you can check Jack Beats on their mammoth US Tour including Owsla dates and a main slot at Hard ‘Day Of The Dead’ Festival! Check out the dates  HERE

Jack Beats – Somebody To Love feat. Jess Mills(Stream)

Following on from ‘Careless’ which featured the likes of Example, Diplo, Dillon Francis and Takura, Jack Beats continue to deliver with the second half of their mini-album, ‘Somebody To Love‘ released on 2nd December on Columbia.

Featuring Jess Mills on vocals, the title track and lead single from ‘Somebody To Love‘ is Jack Beats‘ most ambitious tune to date; a bitter sweet vocal by the ‘Live For What I’d Die For’ singer, welded to a retro rave melody brought bang up to date with an anthemic groove that exemplifies all that is good about bass music right now. Be prepared for the oh-so-catchy vocal hook, that you just won’t be able to get out of your brain!

Jack Beats begin their UK headline tour having just returned from Parklife in Australia this week, and you can catch them at the following UK dates:

Tuesday 16th October – Sheffield Tuesday Club 14th Birthday @ Octogan
Wednesday 17th October – Gorilla Manchester
Thursday 18th October – London XOYO

It’s been a long time coming but we promise you it’s more than worth the wait. One of the UK’s most prolific and versatile producers Hervé, AKA Joshua Harvey, is back with a new single  ‘Better Than A BMX’, released on the 26th February, the first track to be released from his debut artist album ‘Pick Me Up, Sort Me Out, Calm Me Down’ set to drop next year on Cheap Thrills.
Coming in the wake of this year’s club smash and Radio 1 playlisted ‘Together’, ‘Better Than A BMX’ is a perfect teaser for Hervé’s high-octane, bass-heavy full-length, artfully blurring the lines between underground club music and credible pop, firmly laying foundations for next year’s album.
As renowned for his ability to spot and develop talent as for his studio wizardry, his label Cheap Thrills introduced the likes of Fake Blood and Jack Beats to the world and Hervé has collaborated with everyone from Mystery Jets to Katy B.
Continuing that tradition ‘Pick Me Up, Sort Me Out, Calm Me Down’ features not only the likes of Steve Mason, former lead singer of The Beta Band, but also introduces several exciting new vocalists such as Ronika, just tipped by The Guardian for ‘pop greatness in 2012’.
‘Better Than a BMX’ comes complete with remixes from Sedat The Turkish Avenger, Afghan Headspin and Space Cowboy, and a video starring pro-BMX riders Ben Lewis, Peter Sawyer, Paul Ryan, Lloyd Wright and Kayley Ashworth, directed by Rohan Blair-Magnat and produced by the BMX Adidas and Converse Office Lights advert team.
