Temporary Hero – Ballet (Preview)

Temporary Hero - the self-proclaimed love child of Thom Yorke + Madonna after a weekend of Depeche Mode – joins the Sidetrak Records ranks with his haunting and wide-ranging electronic single‘Ballet’.  A stunningly intoxicating and emotional remix by André Lodemann looks to be an Ibiza classic in the making with support already received from Robert Owens, Mousse T, Giom and Jon Cutler.  People Get Real add a growling bass and choppy piano to their tech-tinged remix, while Blackhill take things in a groovy, bumping and funky house direction.

Temporary Hero has collaborated with the likes of Mac Quayle (remixer of New Order, Depeche Mode and Donna Summer), Jerome Isma-Ae, Andre Lodemann, The Slips, Chus + Ceballos, James Teej, Andrew Galea, Pete Gooding and Jeremy Sylvester.  His previous releases on the Object Permanence imprint include ‘Youth’, ‘Hate Sux’, ‘Savin’ up 2 Be a Rock + Roll Star’ and ‘Blasphemy’.  Nothing is deliberate. But it is all temporary.

Felipe Valenzuela, Pier Bucci & A Guy Called Gerald – Mas

Andrea Appolloni’s Room 9 label is back with a fantastic new EP from Chilean producers Felipe Valenzuela and Pier Bucci, supported by the touches of former acid house producer A Guy Called Gerald.

This is Felipe Valenzuela’s second EP for Room 9. A producer with a superb reputation for producing quality house (mixed with his own, trademark South American vibes), Valenzuela’s releases and remixes have turned up on Cadenza, Melisma and Metroline Ltd.

Pier Bucci’s sound is a personal blend of lush, colorful melodies, wrapped inside elegant techno, all tied together with a Latin twist. Together, they make quite the pair. A Guy Called Gerald’s touch further increases the quality of the EP, thanks in no small part to his refined tastes, a gateway sound between house and techno that incorporates aspects of both Chicago House and Detroit Techno.

”Ocurrencias”, by Pier and Felipe, is a groover of a track that’s characterised by lots of organic elements and powerful percussion that progresses into a wave of acid naughtiness.

ACGC worked with the aforementioned Chileans in order to realize the track ”Mas” – a perfect combination of the artist’s styles, with deep, acid haunting synths creating an impressive crescendo that drives the sophisticated melodies and keeps the emotions in check.

Ian Pooley -”What I Do” on January 25th, 2013

The ultimate purist. An enduring visionary. Ian Pooley shares the next part of his legacy with his fifth album, ‘What I Do’, after a four year hiatus. 

Ian Pooley is a rarity. Twenty years into his professional career, he is regarded as both a cult underground DJ and established mainstream producer. As one of the only artists that walk the path between the two, his latest work builds on his past and delivers a polished body of work that sounds both classic and fresh.

In the past Pooley has scoured influences from around the globe – Detroit, Chicago, Brazil, playing with funk with an emphasis on the groove. Over the course of fifteen tracks, ‘What I Do’ walks a similarly tactile path, refreshing the listener on Pooley’s full-bodied and engaging approach but realigning his signature sound.

“The new album is more raw. I produced a lot of the tracks in the old school way, how I used to work in the nineties. All the sounds were created and programmed on analog gear,” Ian Pooley explains.
