Domineeky – Promise Me Love (Good Voodoo Music, GVM004) (Preview Clips)

Having appeared as a remixer on all of Good Voodoo Music’sreleases to date, Domineeky now takes the reigns for a 5 track EP.  Domineeky’s approach explores more organic soundscapes, heavily influenced by African rhythms.  Much of ‘Promise Me Love’was created while Domineeky recently visited South Africa to work with local jazz musicians, poets, opera singers and traditional vocalists to create new flavours of afro-house.

Domineeky’s recent remixes of Good Voodoo Society have received praise from an illustrious group of DJs including Josh from Blaze, Marques Wyatt, Nick Holder, Vincent Kwok and Joss Moog, helping to establish the label as one to keep a keen eye and ear on.  His earlier music and productions have previously been heard onUniversal Records, Big Dada/Ninja Tune, Sky TV, BBC Radio andChannel 4.

Andre Detoxx – She Believed In Me (UM Records, UMR003) (Preview Clips)

UM Records continue their impressive start with another all star, international line up of deep house talent. Andre Detoxx’s ‘She Believed In Me’ serves up two original tracks from the UK based DJ/producer, and three remixes from a decidedly French flavoured line up of YokoO, the HouseRiders (French/Canadian) and HouseRiders members Jeff Fontaine and Deep Spelle who also remix under their own names. The EP delivers a rich vein of deep, organic house with some techier edges courtesy of YokoO.

Andre Detoxx moved to London from his native Poland back in 2004 and has been steadily building his DJ/producing reputation ever since. A PointBlank music school graduate, where his tutor was Danny J Lewis (Enzyme Black, Defected, Spiritual South) the first release from this new talent surfaced in 2010 on ABP before going on to feature on Tanztone, SoundBar Records One and DeepWit Recordings.

Rob Clarke Gravity EP(preview)

Rob Clarke releases his second EP with Boston label Headtunes, this time showing a deeper, tech-tinged side to his sound.  Two original tracks on the ‘Gravity EP’ are remixed by Mike Jules (Greenhouse, Kinjo, Guesthouse) – one an old school house rendition of ‘Gravity’ and the other a leftfield/down-tempo version of ‘The Haunting’. UK dance music stalwart DeepShizzol rounds off the EP with a remix that brings a more driving dancefloor focus and added vocal to the title track.

Rob Clarke’s recent 4 track ‘Depth Charge EP’ and remix of Dirtyworx, both on Headtunes, received praise from DJs including Laurent Garnier, Q-Burns Abstract Message, Luke Solomon, Nacho Marco and Nick Holder.  Rob is also known for hosting the bi-weekly Serious Sounds Radio Show on popular net radio station/community Chicago House FM and can also be found spinning at Chicaboom events around the South of England.

Mike Jules originally hails from Australia but now resides in London.  He has had a variety or releases and remixes on labels such as Greenhouse, Kinjo, Dustpan and Guesthouse, with his quirky beats and funk-flavoured productions finding favour with the likes of Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Joshua Heath, Justin Harris and Da Sunlounge. He also produces a deeper/tech style under the Julson moniker.

Spencer T, alias DeepShizzol, was always going to be involved in music – his father was a welder who made cow bells for 70’s African funk band Osibisa and the sound of beating drums was never far away.  Over the past 20 years he has DJ’d with some of dance music’s premier names including Carl Cox, Kevin Saunderson and Fabio & Grooverider.  A former record store owner and respected name along the UK’s south coast, Spencer has more recently turned to promoting events at clubs including Ministry of Sound and a return to music production has yielded appearances on Cross Section and Save You Records.

The Littlemen – Retro Resources

‘Retro Resources’ celebrates 10 years since the first release by Nottingham house duo The Littlemen.  The 18 track album, released on their own Mobile Trax imprint in October, sees nine of their classic tracks dusted off and given a fresh lease of life, as well as brand new remixes by a who’s who of international underground house stars.  LawnChair Generals, Justin Harris (Music For Freaks), Raoul Belmans (Swirl People), Ken ECB (EastCoast Boogiemen) and Toby Laminex all appear, alongside East Midlands house stalwarts Larry Fives (Inland Knights), Kinky Movement and Special Interest. 

Classic and much loved Littlemen tracks have been sourced form their own Mobile Trax back catalogue and also from the original labels who released them, including LowDown Music (‘Attack Me’), Drop Music (‘Decked Out’) and Tango Recordings (‘Rock Again’).

An early DJ sampler featuring the re-issued ‘Attack Me’ and ‘Decked Out’, plus new Littlemen and LawnChair Generals remixes was a huge success in August with support pouring in from the most respected names in deep, funky, soulful and underground house: Tony Humphries, Miguel Migs, DJ Heather, Rob Mello, Giom, Nick Holder, Fred Everything, JT Donaldson, Grant Nelson and CJ Mackintosh.

The Littlemen – Steve Lee and Gavin Belton – have been at the forefront of the UK’s Midlands house scene for the best part of 17 years as DJ’s and promoters for the Smokescreen and Giddy Fruit Soundsystems. At the end of the 90’s they teamed up in the studio to form The Littlemen and soon became known as some of the most consistent house producers of their era, releasing records on the scene’s top labels such as Drop Music, Aroma, LowDown, Tango, Nightshift, Blockhead and forming their own well renowned label, Mobile Trax. Their music has been licensed to too many compilations to mention with DJ’s like Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Heather and Miguel Migs selecting tracks for their mixes. In this time they have travelled to every corner of the world time over, bringing their chunky house sound to the USA, Australia and New Zealand, Asia, South Africa, and Europe.
