On June 7, Nervous Records presents the debut CD from rising DJ/Producer/Remixer Sydney Blu. Titled, Live From Mansion, this release showcases Sydney’s DJ skills and ability to work a big club, but also leans heavily on her talents behind the boards as a producer and remixer. In fact, the compilation contains nearly 80% of Sydney’s own original productions and remixes.

A native of Thunder Bay, Canada, Sydney Blu went to school for audio engineering in Toronto where she spent countless hours learning the craft from studio engineers. After teaching herself Ableton Live and spending a lot of time with her producer friends like Trent Cantrelle, Christian Falero, Funkagenda, & Joel Zimmerman (AKA Deadmau5), she has completely dove into producing her own music.

Following the success of her releases (including the chart-topping ‘Give It Up For Me’ on Mau5trap Recordings being one of Beatport’s highest selling songs and making Sydney the only female electronic producer to ever have a top 10 hit on the website), Sydney Blu developed and founded her own record label Blu Music, which has produced several chart-topping singles over the past year, with her remixes of the True Blood theme ‘Bad Blood’ and a re-edit of Jefferson Airplane titled ‘Want Somebody’ topping the charts for weeks. All of Sydney’s releases received consistent support from global heavyweights such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Deadmau5, Roger Sanchez, Paul Oakenfold, Funkagenda, Robbie Rivera, Chuckie, Oscar G & more.

After moving to Miami in the spring of 2010, Sydney quickly set-up her residency with Opium Group and Mansion Miami – the hottest club on South Beach. In just one year Sydney’s local profile raised tremendously and culminated with her own sold out Miami Music Week 2011 “Blu Party” featuring John Dahlback, Thomas Gold, Tommy Lee and Aero feat SOFI live, Kim Fai, Trent Cantrelle, Christian Falero & Manufactured Superstars. Watch the recap

Her new home in Miami provides the backdrop for a truly exciting moment in Sydney’s career – her first artist CD – Live From Mansion. While the mix was recorded live over the course of one evening at Mansion, the project took nearly a year to complete. That’s because Sydney wanted to create a CD that was leaned heavily on her own brand new original tracks and remixes. “Its 80% my own music and it feels SO good to be finally releasing it all. Remixes, Collaborations and Original work – it’s all there. The album is representative of me as a producer, a DJ, and my signature sound all in one,” Sydney says.

2011 is already proving to be busy with original tracks and remixes set for release on Spinnin Records, Vicious Records, Funkfarm Records and Juicy Records, all leading up to the release of ‘Sydney Blu: Live at Mansion’. Catch Sydney on the road throughout the summer!

Sydney Blu – Live From Mansion is released June 7, 2011 on Nervous records.

From the album’s liner notes, Bentley says: “RECONFIGURED now brings the music full circle, assembling some of the leading producers of Dance and Electronic music today to, in the words of Zuse, ‘Change the scheme, alter the mood…electrify the boys and girls.’ The results are a thrilling collection of biodigital jazz for disco denizens worldwide that pays homage to Daft Punk’s own legacy through the modern art of the remix.”

Leib adds: “This is the most natural and respectful extension of our TRON soundtrack legacy and one which embraces the electronica club roots of its artistic invention.  Now the entire world can dance to the sounds of THE GRID. ”

Encounter will feature 12 original tracks ranging from dance-driven to acoustic ballads including “Tell Me,” “Black Magic,” and the album version of the new single “Dragons.”

The band’s music reflects their influences ranging from underground electronica to alt-rock and classic pop. Lead singer Marlow says, “Our songs come from the heart and the spirit.
