Bondax
‘Baby I Got That/It’s You’
Just Us / Relentless
26th August
Generating huge ripples of excitement with their truly original sonic sounds, Bondax prepare to debut their next release, ‘Baby I Got That/It’s You’ on own label, Just Us / Relentless on 26th August.
Soaked in Balearic soul, ‘Baby I Got That’ stands layered with ethereal vocal cuts that float above jangly piano stabs and breezy drops. And whilst it’s a tune that breathes easy, it more than packs enough punch for the dancefloor. Sumptuous bass and itchy percussion provide the attitude as they sit alongside that bedrock of house music; the sample. On the flipside, ‘It’s You’ chops up romantic female vocals for a modern-day love song in the only way Bondax know how; rich and otherworldly.
School friends barely out of sixth form, George Townsend and Adam Kaye AKA Bondax released last single ‘You’re So’ on Raffertie’s Super Recordings in March.
Following on from the Kris Menace remix and Wookie remixes of PNAU’s ‘Unite Us’ we can now share with you this amazing new remix from the Brainfeeder’s Raffertie.
“Unite Us” is released officially on 19th February 2012 on Ministry of Sound

Artifact ‘Archaic Line’ (Deadplate) Release date: 16th January 2012
Format: 12” / Digital
Rising new label Deadplate Records drop their second release: the first vinyl offering by Artifact, with a remix by Graphics.
Artifact is the main moniker of Bristol’s Ryan Bonfield; an exciting new producer that merges the hard hitting sounds of dubstep with the swung rhythms of 2-step. With tunes signed to the likes of Pollen, Fortified Audio, Hyperboloid and Car Crash Set, those familiar with Bristol’s offerings to the UK dance scene will already be familiar with Artifact’s music. If you’ve ever heard one of his dubs on a dance floor, you will have known – it’s hard not to take notice when they drop. The original tracks here are perfectly complimented by a remix of ‘Archaic Line’ by Oxford/London DJ and producer Graphics.
Deadplate Records is a hotly tipped new label coming out of the London underground dance scene, releasing a hard hitting, percussive sound that sits somewhere in between house, UK funky, UK garage and dubstep. With releases lined up featuring works from Hackman, James Fox, Hodge and the first release featuring Lung, Maxx Roach and Randomer Deadplate Records is gaining strong recognition as a future stalwart. With support coming from DJs such as Blawan, Dark Sky, xxxy and Raffertie, it’s fair to say that Deadplate have started very strong and look set to go on to becoming a household name in the UK underground dance scene.

Since the formation of PNAU Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes have grown to become one of Australia’s most loved electronic acts. Having already released three critically acclaimed albums over in Australia it is with great excitement that PNAU announce the release of their new single “Unite Us” for Ministry of Sound on 5th February 2012.
Taken from their forthcoming album “Soft Universe,” set for release early next year, this supercharged anthem stands as the perfect introduction to the big, ambitious and elevating sound that has come to characterize PNAU. “Unite Us” is a supremely effervescent track. It surges with colour and positive energy bearing allusion to the musical output of Littlemore’s highly acclaimed side project Empire of the Sun. His impressive role as composer for the Cirque du Soleil in Paris, (he is the youngest musician ever to have filled the position) can also be felt in the track’s expansive sound.
This is a true performance piece in pop disguise. Energetic vocals relay the anthemic lyric “Unite Us, baby I can feel a change, don’t we all feel the same?” upon a euphoric arrangement of plush synths riffs, pulsating rhythmic passages and bass lines, all of which indicate PNAU’s intent to bring their listeners uplifting music that defies club interiors.
The single is backed with six eclectic remixes from Kris Menace, Tommy Trash, Wideboys, Douster and Savage Skulls, Raffertie and Wookie. Whilst each of these stand alone as uniquely engaging together they sweep the spectrum of electronic sub genre cementing “Unite Us,” as one of next year’s key early dance floor fillers!

Raffertie releases his first EP for Ninja Tune and it instantly establishes this young producer as a name to watch in electronic music. Not for Raffertie the arid choices of “post-dubstep” (how to sell out and when?). A young music producer of exceptional confidence and rigour, Raffertie instead makes electronic music to explore the boundaries of the possible. The “Visual Acuity” EP displays newfound maturity whilst keeping the nuances and character that mark him out as a true individual.
Both intensely cerebral and stupidly banging, “Visual Acuity” may fake being an aural equivalent of ADHD, but there is purpose to every twist and turn in this huge tune, the way that Raffertie pulls the music in and out of focus givng rise to its title. “You Could Be Forgiven For Thinking That” is more visceral than the opener, shot through with unexpected emotion. “Twitch” needs to played on very large speakers to be fully appreciated, Raffertie claiming that it is a piece “to be felt as much as heard.” Despite its name, “Mimetic” copies nothing, instead creating a feeling very much like being in the head of a reveller as she waits for The Drop.
Benjamin Stefanski aka Raffertie has never been one to be tied down to any particular genre or scene. He has experimented with numerous styles, displaying the depth and sophistication of his production skill across releases for Planet Mu, Black Acre and Super for which he has received accolades from the likes of Simon Reynolds, Huw Stephens and Mary Anne Hobbes, who first championed Raffertie on her BBC Radio 1 Experimental show in 2008. Recognised both as an innovative producer and stand out DJ, the young talent has a reputation for performances filled with his typical dynamic energy that has seen him play across Europe; from Fabric to Space, Ibiza.
Graduating in 2010 with a degree in Classical Music Composition Raffertie spent the summer refining the next stage in his continuing stylistic progression. He will release his debut artist album on Ninja Tune in early 2012. Tracklisting :
01. Visual Acuity 5:35
02. You Could Be Forgiven For Thinking That 4:50
03. Twitch (It Grows & Grows) 14:00
04. Mimetic 4:52

Release Note
After 10 years of exploring the highways and byways of electronic music exceptional records proudly presents a lovingly assembled sonic collection the likes of which you are unlikely to find elsewhere.
With a heartfelt belief that there is much much more to electronic music than four to the floor and formulaic hands in the air twelves the label has consistently released a determinedly unpredictable selection of artists and mixes carving out a path lying somewhere between mainstream and experimental along the way
This deliberately wilful approach is neatly encapsulated in “From Disco to Dubstep” a wide ranging electronic exploration which joins many of the dots in an ever mutating series of scenes. Released as part of the label’s 10th anniversary celebrations, the double-CD release features an eclectic selection of 16 remixes of artists that currently call exceptional home. Touching on disco, lounge, electronica, house, electro, breaks, dubstep and more it throws down a challenge to narrow minded purists daring them to look, listen, and leave their comfort zone behind to explore just some of the possibilities that define electronic music.
This is a celebration of a series of genres that may perhaps seem quite disparate, yet find common ground thanks to their roots in electronic software. Amongst some of the more familiar names on the tracklisting you can find Mock & Toof’s exuberant, 80’s-tinged deep house remix of Plej’s “Borderline”, typically impressive deep 4/4 action from Jimpster with his remix of “Awakening” by Ken Ishii, Tom Middleton’s up for it remix of “All Over Again” by Blu Mar Ten, the bazooka-bass dubstep of The Rogue Element with his remix of Nursery of Naughtiness’ “Electrified”, Reso and Raffertie trading punches, and Planas’ drastically different electronica restyling of Culprit 1’s “Screamer”. and the soulful dubby rework of Tubbs’ “New Way of Life” by Marlinspike (aka hot property Red Rack’em/Hot Coins ), featuring the chocolatey vocals of Joe Dukie. The whole package is completed with CD 2 providing the many splendoured original versions of the remixes featured on CD 1.
“From Disco to Dubstep” then – proof positive that all is not lost in the world of compilations, and a sparkling showcase for Exceptional’s eponymous output. exceptionalrecords
