Beatport Exclusive February 4th, 2013
General Release March 1st, 2013

Released in July, Belgian producer Compuphonic’s hazy, light dappled house track ‘Sunset’, has grown through word of mouth to become one of 2012’s biggest underground hits, watched over 2 million times on YouTube. The track, featuring the plaintive vocals of Marques Toliver (Bella Union), is now set for a full re-release in February on Get Physical, backed with remixes from some of the most exciting names in clubland today.

Fellow Belgian producer, Aeroplane, shows just why he’s one of the most in demand producers around at the moment, delivering a remix that floats from the speakers, expertly capturing the warmth inherent in the original.

Riding high on the back of acclaimed remixes for T.E.E.D. and Disclosure, London duo Waze & Odyssey inject their trademark house/garage bump n’ grind into the track, whilst up & coming UK producers Aashton & Swift provide a sophisticated remix whose subtle dynamics, synths and piano are sure to soundtrack suns both setting and rising throughout 2013.

Red Snapper -”Jack (Remixes)”

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 1, 2011 by E.N.

Red Snapper are currently touring Europe to support their recent album “Key” and are about to release the next single “Jack“, which comes with two very special remixes.

The TOOB remix comes close on the heels of their “Chromaphon” EP and remixes recently released on Process Recordings. Their remix of “Jack” is a deep, hypnotic, grinding floor filler. Red Snapper approached TOOB for a different angle on this beautiful track. Jakeone used to play keyboard and electronics on stage with the band and has been a fan since the early days. They have used the vocal over their trademark warm and bouncing production.

Red Snapper were honoured when Billy Nasty and Keith Tenniswood (a.k.a. Radioactive Man) offered to remix an album track under their Radionasty moniker. Keith has worked with and followed the band from the early days and engineered some of their best remixes. Billy was one of the first DJs to help the band with their first EP on Flaw Recordings when he worked at Zoom Records in Camden and has been a fan since. This collaboration once again proves that when there is mutual respect between musicians and producers the lines between musical categories becomes blurred and groundbreaking quality prevails.

Tricky – Time To Dance Remixes (preview)

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 11, 2011 by E.N.

Tricky is to release Time To Dance (RUG417D), from his most recent album Mixed Race, as a digital single on Monday the 18th of July 2011. The single will feature remixes from Maya Jane Coles, Doorly and FiFi Rong.
Mixed Race was released last September to great critical acclaim. Tricky has since completed tours of the UK, Australia, Europe and South America with many sold out shows. Tricky will be headlining Blissfields Festival in Winchester on July 2nd before heading into the studio with some interesting electronic artists – full details to follow!

The Time To Dance remixes have already been picking up support from a broad spectrum of dance music’s elite including Ramon Tapia, Plump DJs, John Selway, Groove Armada, Sister Bliss, Kruse & Nuernberg, Mighty Mouse, Hector Romero and Nick Warren. Here is further information on the remixers themselves:

With covers of Mixmag and DJ Mag Weekly already under her belt, and a Radio 1 Essential Mix landing in July, 23-yr old Maya Jane Coles is the rising producer/DJ on everyone’s lips. Support for her productions are as wide ranging as Skream to Scuba on the dubstep side through to Jamie Jones and Laurent Garnier on the house front. As a remixer in her own right Maya has remixed artists from MSTRKRFT through to Todd Terry and as one half of dub-electronica duo She is Danger, her credits include Massive Attack, Delphic and Gorillaz.

The second mix on the package comes from blogger’s favourite, Doorly. The Ibiza Rocks resident has been making just as many waves from Sydney to London as he has in the Balearics – most recently on a 30-date arena tour of North America supporting Rusko. Famed for his ‘Pigeon Hole This’ label and attitude; Doorly’s remix credits list to many to mention but include Prodigy, Groove Armada, Dizzee Rascal, Basement Jaxx and Sia with the likes of Fake Blood, Tiga, Shy FX and Soulwax supporting them at club.

And finally, the third remix comes from FiFi Rong. Signed to Tricky’s Brown Punk label, FiFi Rong is one of London’s freshest talents producing from Dubstep through to UK Funky.

From the album’s liner notes, Bentley says: “RECONFIGURED now brings the music full circle, assembling some of the leading producers of Dance and Electronic music today to, in the words of Zuse, ‘Change the scheme, alter the mood…electrify the boys and girls.’ The results are a thrilling collection of biodigital jazz for disco denizens worldwide that pays homage to Daft Punk’s own legacy through the modern art of the remix.”

Leib adds: “This is the most natural and respectful extension of our TRON soundtrack legacy and one which embraces the electronica club roots of its artistic invention.  Now the entire world can dance to the sounds of THE GRID. ”
