Following critically acclaimed releases on Metalheadz,Commercial Suicide, Exit Records and most recently Tempa, AMIT’s ‘Human Warfare’ and ‘No Mercy’ are the first tracks to be released on his new AMAR imprint, setting the tone as to what you should expect from the new label.
The 12” kicks off with ‘Human Warfare’, a dark and brooding piece acting as the soundtrack to a foot soldiers mind – programmed to kill at any cost without any memory or responsibility of the act itself. AMIT has dug deep into his pool of influences and techniques – half-time metallic drums, paranoid vocals, sinister backdrops and thunderous low sonics drench the track. With a variety of support from DJ’s such as Machinedrum, Goldie,dBridge, Doc Scott, Youngsta, Randall, Krust and Loxy, this track is likely to be heard at any night regardless of genre.
‘No Mercy’ was inspired by historical colonial methods of ‘divide and rule’, hence the title. Featuring the spaced out vocals of tag team partner Rani, AMIT is up to his usual dub antics on this one by deploying tribal grooves, staggered organ hits and a thunderous sub. Support for this track has come from Mala,Youngsta, Distance, Vivek, J:Kenzo, Kryptic Minds and a host of other 140bpm stalwarts.
Machinedrum jumps on remix duties for a special digital only version of ‘Human Warfare’, flipping the rigid feel of the original into a shuffling affair. Drum breaks and ambience float in and out of the music, keeping a sense of flippancy and unrest that propels the track.
