Following the release of his highly acclaimed debut album, On Acid, earlier this year, Berlin artist, Recondite, steps in to provide two deep and dark remixes of Scuba’s ‘The Hope’ for the next Hotflush single.
The label has long been championing Recondite’s work. The track ‘Backbone’ was a notable highlight of Scuba’s revered DJ Kicks mix before the latter applied his own hand on a full-throttle remix of ‘Jaded’, to close out On Acid.
Here, Recondite defines both remixes in the form of two journeys taken at opposing times of the day: a late-night drive and an early-morning walk. In both, the energy and aggression of Scuba’s original is drawn increasingly into a more desolate landscape as glacial synth lines bleed over one another into depths lurking far below the planes of convention.

On the 27th February, Scuba will release his third album through Hotflush. Entitled ‘Personality’ and featuring 11 brand new tracks, it takes in a wealth of genres across contemporary dance music, proving once again Scuba’s place at the cutting edge of the electronic music scene. Preceding his LP will be this single ‘The Hope’;
