3 Seriously Social: Winner announced
The winner has now been announced for the second 3 Seriously Social Party competition. Will Fraser, a student from Liverpool University who is originally from Harrogate, has won the competition with more than 3,500 votes for his “7 Deadly Sins” party theme. He will now be awarded a £30k fund to put his idea into practise along with a full production team to help prepare the party in January 2010.
Will had been the frontrunner throughout the campaign with both his university and hometown getting behind him to rally for votes. He commented on how grateful he was to win the competition: “So happy about winning! Me and Hannah-Grace Fitzpatrick came up with the idea a while ago after a drunken night, we never thought we would actually get the chance to make it happen!”
“I have been really lucky to have had help from all my mates who have been spreading the word around all their universities and everyone back at home in Harrogate who has been voting, most of all everyone in Liverpool who has been voting away. It was a real tough competition, all the other ideas were really good, well done to all of you.”
“I am now going to work really hard to make sure this party is unforgettable! I will be keeping everyone updated on how the organising is going. Thank you all so much for voting!”
Johnno Burgess from Bugged Out!, who will mentor the winning party, said: “Will has been the front runner all along and I can see how he has won. His Seven Deadly Sins idea is fun and each themed room well thought out. His video is simple but convincing and the idea for the party can also realistically be achieved. I can’t wait to help Will realise this idea and attend the night and I imagine I will spend most of my time in the Lust room!”
Dan Krijgsman from Manchester finished in second place with his “Midsummer’s Nightmare” idea, and Jamie Chung finished in third place after masterminding a last minute campaign which saw his Wonderland party video as visualised by a talking dog rise dramatically up the ranks in the last 48 hours of the voting stage of the competition.
The full results are displayed on the Seriously Social Party Facebook Page, and those who are interested in following Will’s party planning can become a fan for updates.
Those who become fans of the page will also benefit from exclusive competitions such as the chance to win a HTC Hero handset with free premium Spotify pass (closing date today).
