Brooklyn duo CREEP are set to release their debut single, Days, on Tuesday, January 25 2010 through Young Turks.  Featuring guest vocals by The xx’s Romy Madley-Croft, “Days” is a ghostly blend of Romy’s ethereal voice and CREEP’s sinister beats, blending tones of goth, shoegaze and R&B to create darkly prophetic and orchestral soundscapes.

Check out the stream for “Days”  HERE.

Remixes on the 12” come from Deadboy and Azari & III.  Deadboy turns ‘Days’ in to 2-step, dancefloor melancholia with Azari & III turning in a 6 minute Chicago house indebted mix.

“…the perfect soundtrack for a counterfactual scenario in which Godard scrapped his plans to make Alphaville and instead usurped Bruce Brown as the director of Endless Summer.” – My Old Kentucky Blog

After playing their first US dates this past week, Paris-based lo-fi surf rockers La Femme have announced their debut EP, Le Podium#1: La Femme (December 13th, Third Side Records). The EP is the first in Le Podium, a 10″ / Digital EP series from Third Side Records. The band has also released the censored cover of their EP for the series, a take on Gustave Courbet’s L’Origine du monde. For a taste of the record, watch the band’s DIY video for the “Telegraphe,” and their MP3 for “Sur La Planche”
The band will be continuing their first US Tour with newly announced dates in San Francisco.

Listening to their first EP, La Femme’s music takes many shapes, none of which are completely in focus. “Sur La Planche” (“On the Board”) hurls down gigantic waves of surf guitar with ease and style. Download the track HERE . “Françoise” is a faceless sonic sensation, while “La Femme Ressort” (“The She Spring”) is a snapshot of a rainy Paris side street. The band is at its most driving with “Telegraphe,” a driving French new-wave rave up, filtered through The Ventures’ back catalog. All in all, Le Podium#1 walks the line between erotic avant-pop and lo-fi surf rock, creating a record that’s at turns flippantly light-hearted or aggressively dark.

La Femme U.S. Dates:
12/10: San Francisco, CA @ Living Arts Fund
12/12: San Francisco, CA @ The Knockout

Additional tour dates, including East Coast dates, coming soon!
