Pursuit Grooves will be releasing her solo LP “Frantically Hopeful” in June on Pinch operated Tectonic Recordings. It is guaranteed to be a stand out album for 2011 with early buzz play by Brackles and AlexNut of RinseFM and Anthony Valadez of KCRW

stream “Peace Talks”

and “Transformation of Consciousness”

The LP continues rhythmically where last year’s ‘Fox Trot Mannerisms’ EP left off but launches into a different head space with lyrics touching on current affairs and technological dependency.

Juggling all angles from production, songwriting, MCing and singing, Pursuit Grooves continues what she does best, fusing elements of electronic, hip hop, house and broken beats with sensual melodies and vocals. ‘Frantically Hopeful’ challenges conversations and feet alike, offering a true backdrop to the world we live in today.

Pursuit Grooves has 4 albums under her belt plus numerous live gigs performed in the UK, Germany, Spain, Japan, Australia and beyond. Having received kudos from Gilles Peterson, IDJ, DJ Magazine, Fact Mag, Boomkat etc for last years EP “Fox Trot Mannerisms”, Vanese Smith is one of the few producers in the eclectic beat scene who is also an energetic and skilled vocalist/MC who also mainly uses a hardware sampler when performing live. She is also a 2008 Redbull Music Academy alum which also included Onra, Teebs, Dorian Concept, Lukid, Cardopusher and Fatima. Providing sounds that are equal parts soul, house, and broken beat, Pursuit Grooves always DELIVERS!

Over the weekend, Digitalism shared a new remix of their track “2 Hearts,” the lead track from their new album, I Love You, Dude, via the band’s soundcloud page. The album, the follow up to 2007’s Idealism, will see a release on June 21st via V2/Cooperative Music/Downtown Records. The band will be taking their live show on the road this summer as well, headlining the HARD Summer Tour, alongside Caspa, Destructo, Jack Beats and Gesaffelstein.
This year’s HARD Summer Tour will be the second annual installment of the traveling festival, which brings together some of the biggest names in electronic music. The tour will hit fourteen markets across North America, including a stop at the World Electronic Music Festival in Toronto.
I Love You, Dude further serves their aim of getting everyone to dance with 10 tracks, each of which has their own vibrant identity. This is the sound of a band welding dancefloor pugilism onto crafted sonic sculpture. The band set the bar high for themselves, featuring tracks like  “Forrest Gump,” co-written with Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, “Circles,” with its Who-ish keyboard and apparently existential lyrics, and standout track “2 Hearts.”

Darren Rice -“Akira”(Incl.Anodyne Remix)

Darren Rice
Heavy Reel – HVRL003
Beatport Exclusive: 19 May 2011
General Release: 02 Jun 2011

2.Akira (Tom Hades Remix)
3.Akira (Anodyne Remix)

Riding high at number one presently in Dave Clarke‘s chart with his remix of Wilko‘s “Work Ya Body” and garnishing wide support for his recent outings, this next release couldn’t have come at a better time for Darren Rice. The follow up to his previous “M9” release is “Akira“, a three track EP featuring remixes from Tom Hades and Anodyne.

The original, as with the whole EP, gives more than a nod to the real, how it was and how it should be, Techno. It twists and turns it’s way morphing to climax with clever, modulated and machine-like melody changes. Lead along by an ominous, evolving and somewhat other-worldly synth line we’d liken to a Wookiee being castrated. It’s angry and it means business. Chewie beware.

Tom Hades‘ cleverly reinterprets Darren’s original making extensive use of the palette provided. He delivers as only he can, a track which from the offset develops with offshooting stabs, intricately timed delay hits and dollops of Hades’ signature groove sauce splattered generously over the mix like a cheerleader come Monday morning at Charlie Sheen’s.

Rounding off the package we are delighted to have on board Anodyne who delivers a stunning 90’s hardcore, rave-infused remix. Through nostalgia-inducing vocal and synth stabs coupled with sequenced melody programming Anodyne illustrates why he is favoured by many including The Black Dog and Autechre whom recently remixed singles from his “Corrosion” Album which dropped last year on Psychonavigation Records.

Bangin, innit.

EMN : Heavy release,Anodyne remix is our fav. dont miss this one!
