Download Track Of the Day: Sun Glitters-It Takes Me

It is easy to become a workaholic when your talent knows no limits.
Having exploded onto every tastemaker website and blog in the past 6 months with his remixes, collaborations and bandcamp EPs, Luxembourg’s Victor Ferreira aka Sun Glitters is a man with an already astonishingly adoring audience.

While this eager fanbase grows by the day – due to early and excessive support fromPitchforkFader MagazineThe Guardian and XLR8R – now is the perfect time for the production whizz to release his most satisfying and accomplished work to a much wider audience. Marrying Burial inspired vocals to Flying Lotus influenced beats wrapped up in rousing Slowdive melodies, the hazily lush High EP is an entire summer season shoegazing out over 4 melodic songs.

Title track “High” sets things in motion, ebbing and flowing into colourful refrain, while“It Takes Me” is an intense Mediterranean anthem and should be broken apart and examined by budding producers, for its ability to capture and sweep you along immediately is something to behold.
“They Don’t Want to Let You Know” bounces and sways, with its eerily atmospheric vocal manipulations offset against alluring blissful beats, it’s the standout track on the EP.
The final song on the EP is a remix of “It Takes Me” by the sensational Jack Colleran aka MMOTHS (previously named Moths). His fresh and new approach to the field of production has had blogs the world over buzzing with excitement. With the entire internet on tenterhooks for his upcoming EP and with a recent Interpol remix to his name, you’ll be hearing a lot more about MMOTHS in the coming months.

The High EP will be released on limited vinyl through new art label music/is/for/losers.

Two additional remixes will be given away free when the EP is purchased fromhttp://musicisforlosers.bandcamp.com/ only. The first is by Newport duo Jewellers, who add their layered intricate beats to title track “High”Jewellers gained waves of blog attention after releasing their debut album Sleep Education via upcoming label The Sounds Of Sweet Nothing (Gross Magic/Tashaki Miyaki), in 2011. The second remix comes courtesy of Florida’s Sumsun, who offers up a blissful aquatic take on SunGlitter’s fuzzy bass-heavy “They Don’t Want to Let You Know”.

Swedish native Soso has proven that she can handle every aspect of the creative process on her own. Her debut album, That Time I Dug So Deep I Ended Up In China, due out May 1, 2012, acts as a self-indulgent and almost awkwardly honest autobiography. First single “Who’s Gonna Love Me” is a slow-building pop gem that battles intimate issues like insecurity and abandonment, with a “fuck-you” attitude. The record is also cut with a number of lush preludes and semi-instrumentals, including “Sab Lackath,” on which Soso recorded herself crying and edited it into rhythmic beats. It is clear that within the parameters of her technique, Soso truly invites us to her inner most private places.

The Glass are back with another single from their At Swim Two Birds album. “Washed Up”, produced by London’s Jagz Kooner, is an indie-dance monster with live bass, guitars and building synths that paints a picture of the blank generation growing old with the world passing them by.

The song was remixed by several outstanding producers, including none other than house legend Todd Terry who delivers two mixes utilizing his classic drum workouts.
