Roxy Music – Love is The Drug (Todd Terje Remix) – Official Video

Posted in News with tags , , , , on February 16, 2012 by dk

Following on from a series of hugely popular 12″ remixes of Bryan Ferry tracks in 2011 comes an exclusive Roxy Music remix 12″ vinyl.

Featuring an absolutely essential, epic remix by man-of-the-moment Todd Terje, whose edit of Roxy’s ‘Love Is The Drug’ gives the 1975 classic a contemporary club twist and is a must-have for anyone who snapped up Terje’s recent remix of Bryan Ferry’s ‘Alphaville’.

On the flipside is an equally essential version by dub-disco doyens Lindstrom and Prins Thomas, whose Balearic-style reworking of Roxy’s ‘Avalon’ is a hypnotic masterstroke in dance music dynamics.

Hand crafted by The Vinyl Factory on 180-gram heavweight vinyl, the 12″ features exclusive cover, inner sleeve and label artwork based on the iconic originals.

Karin Park – Fryngies
State of the Eye Recordings
5th March 2012

Following the release of her UK debut last September, the critically acclaimed ‘Tiger Dreams EP’, Sweden’s Karin Park returns with ‘Fryngies’ the first single off her forthcoming album ‘High Wire Poetry’.

Hailed as one of the most original new voices out there with ‘Fryngies‘ Karin artfully marries her unique vocals, at once both powerfully strong and yet so delicately fragile, to a soundtrack of icy electronics, sparse dubstep influenced beats and rattling, haunted percussion.

Working with acclaimed producer Christoffer Berg (Fever Ray/The Knife/ Little Dragon), and State of the Eye’s Barry Barnett, the result is truly leftfield electronic pop music that builds and builds, step by step, to a taut emotional climax.

As with ‘Tiger Dreams’ Karin has again hand picked some of the most exciting and respected producers around to re-tool ‘Fryngies’ for the dancefloor, and first up is dubstep phenomenon Funtcase, whose hair-raising remix has already found favour with Radio 1’s Zane Lowe who premiered the track on his show in December and has been viewed on YouTube more than 600,000 times.

Taking things in another direction entirely Portuguese rising star Moullinex flips the script entirely, dropping a refreshingly bright and upbeat house mix that is already being strongly supported by the likes of Dimitri from Paris and Mighty Mouse.
