Cardiff / Bristol based newcomers, Face + heel announce the release of their debut EP, ‘No Stars’, the inaugural release forWarm Records.

The label is but the latest extension of Warm, which has been a mainstay on the London club scene for many years now with a residency at Plastic People as well as a booking agency. The agency, which has recently merged with Elastic Artists, looks after the likes of Dixon, Lapalux and Tensnake to name a few.
Face + heel are Luke Taylor and Sinead McMillan. The duo has been causing quite a stir since FACT Magazine posted a live video of the EPs title track. Since then, they have picked up Radio 1 airplay, were invited to play at the recent Sunday Best party, secured support slots with Blondes, and played live on The Boiler Room – London’s seminal U-stream party.

With further shows upcoming supporting the likes of Matthew Dear and Mylo, as well as appearances at this year’s Loveboxand Great Escape festivals, the pair’s delicate electronic sound and expert song-craft is clearly picking them up a slew of tastemaker support already.

Supporting the release, celebrated arts visual director, Hans Lo will be producing the band a very special promo video, lined up to surface mid-May.

Warm will be releasing two further Face + heel EPs this year.

Catch Face + heel supporting Matthew Dear on 30th April at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen in Shoreditch and on 12th May atCanavans in Peckham for their EP release party.

The Hudson Branch release “Piggyback” as a free download/stream to celebrate the release of their new album “World Kid,” out today.

Recorded with John McEntire (Broken Social Scene, Tortoise) and produced by Neil Strauch(Andrew Bird, Iron & Wine, Anathallo), “World Kid” retains the nuanced complexity of the band’s debut album “Tightrope Walker” but sees The Hudson Branch (Cobey Bienert, Corey Bienert, Matt Boll, Jake Boll, Enoch Kim) embracing new territory. In addition to traditional instruments (guitar, bass, drums, piano), ukuleles, programmed beats, tambourines, shakers, glockenspiels, marimbas, a Wurlitzer, an organ, Casio synths, violins combine to create “World Kid’s” unique sonic texture.

In addition to digital format, “World Kid” is also being released as a multimedia physical songbook, featuring original illustrations for all album tracks by visual artist Rachel June, the short story “Work” by award winning radio producer Andy Mills (NPR, PRX, WBEZ), lyrics, exclusive photos from the making of “World Kid” and full album download code. Marc Miroir – Hitting Home (Paso Music)(stream)

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , on April 24, 2012 by dk

Berlin-based Marc Miroir, the German producer and Paso Music label founder is deeply rooted in the electronic music scene as a DJ since 1993. His vast experience as a DJ and his ability to create a journey from deep house through tech house, minimal, acid house towards techno, in his legendary long sets makes Miroir a force to be noted. Fans of releases on Level Non Zero, Bondage Music, Trapez and Great Stuff will, no doubt, be well aware of Marc Miroir’s dancefloor sensibility.
His natural affinity to the audience, a flawless (and seemingly effortless) mixing style (vinyl) and innate tune selection, have given him a huge fan-base around the world. Marc Miroir has played nearly every big event in Germany and Europe, events like Nature One, SonneMondSterne, Rave on Snow, Winterworld, Ruhr in Love, Thaibreak and many well-known clubs like Coocoon Club, Space, Florida 135 and Fabrik in Spain, besides his residencies at Weekend in Berlin and Airport in Würzburg.
Now, in 2012 it is time to experience his debut artist album…
