Mozella & Motown Legend Brian Holland Team Up For New Album+Free Download

Detroit songstress Mozella is thrilled to announce the release of her new album The Brian Holland Sessions. Set for a July 24th release, this exciting new album was co-written by Motown legend Brian Holland – songwriter of over 25 #1 Motown songs – and co-produced by Holland along with Dave Wilder (Macy Gray & Ghostface Killah).

Mozella – who seamlessly blends her charismatic vocals and charming personality with carefully crafted pop, soul, and jazz – was a perfect compliment to Holland’s songwriting, synonymous with what is arguably considered the greatest period of American songwriting history. Holland is responsible for classic songs such as “(Love Is Like A) Heat Wave” for Martha and the Vandellas, “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)” for Marvin Gaye, “Baby I Need Your Loving” for the Four Tops and hit songs by The Supremes like “Baby Love,” “Stop! In the Name of Love,” and “You Keep Me Hangin’ On.”

SHIT ROBOT Presents THE GREEN MACHINE and New 12” Single (Out May 21 via DFA)

Shit Robot Announces New 12” on DFA, “Teenage Bass”
b/w “Space Race,” the First Release In His New Project,
The Green Machine

Shit Robot returns with his first new material since the release of his debut long-player, 2010’s From The Cradle To The Rave. After spending much of 2010 and 2011 touring the globe with his live show – including a string of dates opening/performing with LCD Soundsystem during their final shows in NYC – the rebooted Robot is back with The Green Machine.

The first result of his Stuttgart/New York studio adventures is a double-header of dancefloor jams, “Teenage Bass” b/w “Space Race,” which will be released digitally and on vinyl via DFA on May 21, 2012. It’s the first in a series of releases called The Green Machine, which will culminate in an album early next year.

Lead cut “Teenage Bass” rides a rude EBM bassline and rave alert sirens, before expanding further with key changing chords and a defining arpeggiator. The hypnotic “Space Race” is a distant relative of 2007’s “Chasm” – a meandering, melodic, star-gazing Robo-techno workout.

Speaking about the new release, Shit Robot said: “After the album I just wanted to go back to my roots and make some dance 12”s, music for people to get drunk and jump around to.” A limited number of each of The Green Machine 12” releases will feature customized, hand-finished sleeves, available only from the DFA webstore. You can pre-order the limited releases from the DFA web-shop.

To mark the new release, Shit Robot has announced a series of live The Shit Robot Show/DJ dates across the world, with more soon to be announced. In addition, a new range of Shit Robot merchandise is now available from the DFA webstore. You can grab Robot coffee mugs, pins, stamped “Wong Galaxy” white labels and a rather nifty From The Cradle To The Rave value pack, which includes a vinyl, CD and pin for $15.
