Quantax – Temporal Perception

Newcomer to the scene Rich Quantax has spent a lot of time building up to this point.

With “Temporal Perception”, his latest offering and first full EP, he builds layered tracks filled with hidden depths and textures; veils of wavering bass and ripples of flickering percussion cover lilting breathy vocals and heartbeat rhythms.

“Rotations” skips and clicks with effervescence over a deep, dark bassline; “The Warning” combines dampened tribal sounds with a more familiarly erratic DnB snare-driven rhythm.

“Untold” features beautifully breathless vocals, and “Time and Place” brings some new textures in with warm keys and a thousand percussive inserts somehow all fitting satisfyingly into place.

Finally “Relapse” plays out with twinkling starry-night piano and more of Quantax’s “found” percussion sounds, building to a climax with emotive vocal samples and the sound of music filtering away to its last drop.
