Scuba 2
Scuba ‘Hotflush Classics’ Mix for Annie Mac
BBC Radio 1, Fri 18th January
Listen back here:

On Friday 18th January, Scuba dropped a special mix of Hotflush classics for Annie Mac on her Radio 1 show.
Digging into the archives DJ, producer and Hotflush label head Paul Rose, AKA Scuba, cherry picked seven classic tracks from the imprint’s plentiful catalogue to deliver a succinct but stunning mix. Pulling from all corners of Hotflush’s diverse roster, the mix effortlessly joins the dots between the breakbeat science of Toasty’s seminal ‘The knowledge’ and low end mechanics of Loefah’s remix of Search & Destroy ‘Candy Floss’ to more recent offerings such as Joy Orbison’s ubiquitous ‘Hyph Mngo’ and Rose’s own ‘Adrenalin’.
Since 2003 Hotflush has been host to some of electronic music’s most exciting artists including Mount Kimbie, George FitzGerald, Jimmy Edgar and their most recent signing Shelter Point. Scuba’s finely tuned ear and forward-thinking production has resulted in Hotflush having one of the most revered and influential catalogues in electronic music.
1. Mount Kimbie – Maybes (Hotflush)
2. Scuba – Adrenalin (Hotflush)
3. Joy Orbison – Hyph Mngo (Hotflush)
4. Scuba – Twitch (Jamie Vex’d remix) (Hotflush)
5. Sepalcure – Love Pressure (Hotflush)
6. Search & Destroy – Candyfloss (Loefah remix) (Hotflush)
7. Toasty – The Knowledge (Hotflush)

Gentlemen HALL

Standing strong between the high-handed anthemic choruses of Fun and the retro synth melodies of MGMT, Gentlemen Hall has established itself as one of the most talked about bands to emerge from Boston recently. Their latest single, “Sail Into The Sun” is now being used in a GLOBAL campaign for Samsung. The band is also offering the track for free for a limited time.
Beginning as a group of friends hanging in college dorms, the six guys formed the band in 2008. After winning numerous accolades such as MTV’s Best Breakout Band in 2009 and Boston’s Best Act in 2011, the band was nominated and won Billboard’s Battle of the Bands and made history being the first independent band to perform on the Billboard Music Awards in 2011. In September 2011 they released their debut EP “When We All Disappear” (Download, listen here) to critical acclaim and toured nationally throughout 2012.  They are currently finishing their full-length album, which is due out in 2013.
