Godspeed You! Black EmperorFlow Festival, based in Helsinki have dropped their latest line-up, which includes legendary post rock band Godspeed You! Black Emperor. One of rock’s most emotive collectives returned this October after nearly a decade in hiatus with album ‘Allelujah! Don’t Bend! Ascend!’ which proved that its uncompromising but atmospheric expression was still the best in its genre. The band’s ever-ambitious visual displays will be in full force at Flow, where a film will be looping with the force of four 16 mm projectors.

Also added are dream pop duo Beach House, one of the most successful indie acts in recent years,  their last two albums ‘Teen Dream’and ‘Bloom’ for the legendary Sub Pop label saw them perfecting  their misty sound and scored them fans across the globe. Next up are critically acclaimed electro Finnish act K-X-P who are setting the international standard of indie psychedelia.

The latest line-up will be joined by the already announced KraftwerkThe KnifeKendrick LamarNick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Solange, AlunaGeorge, Disclosure, Haim, Mykki Blanco, afro beat hero Ebo Taylor, Karenn, Maya Jane Coles, Todd Terje, Azealia Banks, Finnish electro outfit Sarah Kivi & Non Orchestra and Goat at Helsinki’s historic Suvilahti - a disused powerplant built at the turn of the century this August.

Kraftwerk 3D Announcement – Headlining Finland’s Flow Festival With Specially Curated Version For One Night Only

kraftwerk 3dELECTRONIC HEADLINE ANNOUNCEMENT – KRAFTWERK CURATES AN
EXCLUSIVE RETROSPECTIVE 3D VISUAL DISPLAY

FLOW FESTIVAL
LOCATION: HELSINKI, FINLAND
DATE: 7TH- 11TH AUGUST 2013

Flow Festival welcomes Kraftwerk, the pioneers of electronic music, to perform  a specially curated version of their 3D visual projections spectacle. Kraftwerk  have been wowing sold out crowds at London’s Tate Modern and New York’s
Museum of Modern Art with respective residencies displaying all of their music from  the past four decades juxtaposed with an awe inspiring visual spectacle. Alexis Petridis confirmed in The Guardian – “The quality of the music is beyond
question, the spectacles are genuinely spectacular: somehow, in a world packed with heritage acts playing their back catalogues, Kraftwerk still feel unique.”
But it’s not only electronic music legends that represent what Flow is about: emerging innovators Disclosure will also be presenting their forthcoming debut album to Flow’s expectant crowds. Additionally, Nu-Disco frontliners Tensnake, Todd Terje from Norway and the queen of deep house Maya Jane Coles will be headlining the electronic strand of this exciting mishmash of musical talent.
Flow has become synonymous with bringing music from old school legends to topical newcomers, Scandinavia’s finest and a whole host of international talent. This year is no exception as artists such as elusive Swedish duo The Knife, perform their  forthcoming album to a hyped festival crowd. Alongside will be Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Solange, Mykki Blanco, afro beat hero Ebo Taylor, Karenn (Blawan & Pariah), Azealia Banks, Finnish electro outfit Sarah Kivi & Non Orchestra and Rough Trade’s favourite Swedes, Goat – with even more acts still to be announced.
Returning to the historic Suvilahti which is only a short walk away from the centre of Helsinki, the festival strikes an alluring setting for a few days of blissed-out festival escapism. Held in the shadows of a disused power station built at the turn of the century, the looming location is one of Helsinki’s most monumental architectural sites. Embracing its penchant for urban spaces and modern art, Flow’s venue sets it aside as one of the most exciting and innovative festivals of the summer.
Beyond the music, Flow offers a warm embrace of the arts, offering art displays from Scandinavia and abroad as well as showcasing art house film, cinema, lectures and an exceptional array of world spanning cuisine. There’s easily enough to keep attendees occupied, if ever spending a summer weekend in culture hub Helsinki  wasn’t enough.
In honour of their landmark tenth anniversary, Flow has announced an exclusive 10%  off UK ticket prices for adventurous festival-goers in search of something a little  different. Flow Festival remains a unique music festival defined by its passions: award winning musical acts, pioneering arts and an ethical mindset. Prepare to be inspired,
intrigued and delighted in unexpected ways this August.
Telegraph, 2012 – “This art-filled urban festival, on the site of an old power plant near the city
center, is compact, but a lot of thought has gone into creating a variety of colourful
entertainment places.”
