Fiona Bevan (Mr Hudson, Ed Sheeran etc) reveals video for ‘Rebel Without A Cause’

Fiona Bevan pic 1Acclaimed songwriter Fiona Bevan has unveiled a video for her new single Rebel Without A Cause. Taken from her debut album Talk To Strangers, due on April 28th, Fiona aptly describes her debut album as ‘pop in disguise’. The dozen, dynamic songs on Talk To Strangers have hooks, harmonies and melodies that linger from first listen, but they are defiantly timeless as opposed to time-bound, as rooted in the past as they are in the present and purposely hard to pin down.

Talking of the single, Fiona says;

I wrote Rebel Without A Cause just after the London riots which left my street smashed up and smoking. It made me think of listless teenage frustration and the feeling of not knowing what to do with yourself… So I stole the James Dean title, and used it as a backdrop for a love song about escaping.

I made the video with Emile Kelly and Jackson Ducasse, driving a beaten-up old convertible through debt-ravaged southern Spain, wild swimming in dirty streams, getting lost on sun-struck mountain-tops and shacking up at cheap motels.

Irish singer, song-writer and producer Mykel has just unveiled his latest video for new single ‘Hold On.’
The video is directed by Paris Zarcilla, who is the ex creative director of SBTV and has previously shot videos for the likes of Ed Sheeran. The hard hitting video was shot on location in London and beautifully mirrors the emotional intensity of the single.
The lead single is taken from his artfully crafted 5 track EP which is set to build on the stirring success of his debut single – ‘Sweet Valentine’. Nine months in the works, the finished EP is a stunning collection of soulful and emotive tunes from start to finish and is out 15th April.

Mykel – Debut Single ‘Sweet Valentine’ (Stream)

Mykel - Sweet Valentine (feat Ati Fisher)Mykel aka Irish singer, song writer and producer Michael Fitzpatrick, will be releasing his debut single ‘Sweet Valentine’, an artfully crafted track exploring the depths of soulful electronica, this February via Ntrang Music.

2013 looks to be a huge break out year for Mykel, starting with the release of his first single – ‘Sweet Valentine’, an emotive track exploring love and lust. The song features haunting, soulful vocals which are beautifully juxtaposed by a deep bassline and an infectious electronic backing track. Mykel successfully merges underground electronic with organic pop to create a sound that’s unique but crucially maintains a broad appeal.
Michael counts Ed Sheeran, Knife Party and Labrinth amongst his main musical influences but has a wide variety of musical tastes, listening to everything from underground hip hop, to 50s big band and soul singers and classical music. All of which have helped him shape his own music, in which he takes elements from multiple genres to create emotive pop with a deeper and harder edge.
Out Via Ntrang Music – 18th Feb 2013
