Mykel aka Irish singer, song writer and producer Michael Fitzpatrick, will be releasing his debut single ‘Sweet Valentine’, an artfully crafted track exploring the depths of soulful electronica, this February via Ntrang Music.
2013 looks to be a huge break out year for Mykel, starting with the release of his first single – ‘Sweet Valentine’, an emotive track exploring love and lust. The song features haunting, soulful vocals which are beautifully juxtaposed by a deep bassline and an infectious electronic backing track. Mykel successfully merges underground electronic with organic pop to create a sound that’s unique but crucially maintains a broad appeal.
Michael counts Ed Sheeran, Knife Party and Labrinth amongst his main musical influences but has a wide variety of musical tastes, listening to everything from underground hip hop, to 50s big band and soul singers and classical music. All of which have helped him shape his own music, in which he takes elements from multiple genres to create emotive pop with a deeper and harder edge.
