James Dexter - System Check EPUpcoming London producer James Dexter joins the Lost My Dog ranks with a four tracker taking in slow-burning deep groovers through to bumping, funked-up cuts.  His ‘System Check EP’ is a perfect representation of the sound LMD has pushed over the past eight years and another example of the label not being afraid to work with talented producers in the early stages of their careers.

At 25 years old Dex has already amassed a number of noteworthy releases including tracks and remixes on Om Records, Salted Music, Nervous Records, Beatdown Music and Static Audio.  His remix of Miguel Migs’ single ‘Tonight’ reached the number three spot in the Traxsource Top 100, with his own single ‘Give Me Something’ on Migs’ Salted Music not far behind. He has also recently released a track on Shades Of Gray’s Beef Records and has something in the works for Large, alongside remixes for Solid Ground and Bump Trax.

Already Dex can count a number of high profile DJs as fans – Fred Everything, Moodymanc, Karol XVII & MB Valence, Evren Ulusoy, Giom, CJ Mackintosh, Dale Howard and several more are all supporters of his music.

Kruse & Nuernberg release their debut artist album through Lazy Days Recordingsin October.  ‘Let’s Call It A Day’ sees the Hamburg based pair – who have previously released on labels such as Noir Music, Liebe*Detail and their own Save Room Recordings – step outside their boundaries to present an eclectic journey through their musical influences, including Indie luminariesLittle Dragon, Metronomy and Pheonix. Live pianos and guitars meet their electronic world with finesse through 11 songs, moving through genres and tempos seamlessly in what Lazy Days’ boss Fred Everything has called “a classic dance album in the making”.

The album features singer Stee Downes, who collaborated on last year’s #1 ‘Want You In My Soul’ from Lovebirds, Nathalie Claude, who featured on Andre Lodemann’s ‘Searching’ and Japanese singer Miwaki. They also co-produced a piece with Florian Kruse’s brother, and deep house legend, Vincenzo (Dessous, Poker Flat).

Kruse & Nuernberg have been on the forefront of the revival of the Deep House scene in the past few years.  As remixers, they have put their magic touch to artists like Dennis Ferrer and Groove Armada as well as being remixed by legendary producers such as Tom Middleton and DJ Sneak. They are also part of the successful outfit ‘Wiretappeur’, who released on John Digweed’s Bedrock label.

The links between Kruse & Nuernberg and Fred Everything stretch back several years with each being a fan of the other’s work.  Their first release on Lazy Days came in May 2010 and they have now recorded three EPs for the label, including a recent collaboration with Fred.

UM Records continue their impressive start with another all star, international line up of deep house talent. Andre Detoxx’s ‘She Believed In Me’ serves up two original tracks from the UK based DJ/producer, and three remixes from a decidedly French flavoured line up of YokoO, the HouseRiders (French/Canadian) and HouseRiders members Jeff Fontaine and Deep Spelle who also remix under their own names. The EP delivers a rich vein of deep, organic house with some techier edges courtesy of YokoO.

Andre Detoxx moved to London from his native Poland back in 2004 and has been steadily building his DJ/producing reputation ever since. A PointBlank music school graduate, where his tutor was Danny J Lewis (Enzyme Black, Defected, Spiritual South) the first release from this new talent surfaced in 2010 on ABP before going on to feature on Tanztone, SoundBar Records One and DeepWit Recordings.

The Littlemen – Steve Lee and Gavin Belton – have been at the forefront of the UK’s Midlands house scene for the best part of 17 years as DJ’s and promoters for the Smokescreen and Giddy Fruit Soundsystems. At the end of the 90’s they teamed up in the studio to form The Littlemen and soon became known as some of the most consistent house producers of their era, releasing records on the scene’s top labels such as Drop Music, Aroma, LowDown, Tango, Nightshift, Blockhead and forming their own well renowned label, Mobile Trax. Their music has been licensed to too many compilations to mention with DJ’s like Mark Farina, DJ Sneak, Heather and Miguel Migs selecting tracks for their mixes. In this time they have travelled to every corner of the world time over, bringing their chunky house sound to the USA, Australia and New Zealand, Asia, South Africa, and Europe.

EXCLUSIVE CRAZY P 7″ for sale and FREE DOWNLOADS of two classic releases.

Crazy P – Fascination

Crazy P and 2020 collaborate to release a limited edition  7” released in conjunction with record store day.  The one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music.
It features album track Fascination in original form and also in covered form by Benjamin James Smith (Smith & Mudd).  Ben took the lyrics and went into the studio to record his version after watching the Johnny cash biopic Walk The Line.
The result is a million miles from the Crazy P version, but not far from what Johnny Cash would have done in his heyday, and hence why his version is housed in Sun Records inspired artwork.
These have been pressed in very limited quantities and aren’t in the shops till record store day (Sat 17th April) and will no doubt be future collectors items.
