Brontide Release Debut Album “Sans Souci” In America (Featuring Members of La Roux, I Was A Cub Scout and Pictures)+free download

“A debut album that is every bit as nod-along appealing as the best pop to have emerged in time for the summer season” – BBC Music

“Sans Souci is a continuous piece of music that ascends and descends with ease. Articulate, virtuoso and surprisingly entertaining!” – Clash Magazine

“A hugely accomplished debut” – Kerrang

Drawing upon the influence of Battles, Russian Circles and Don Caballero, Brontide are a riff-heavy, intelligent instrumental-rock band that possesses an almost limitless scope. Featuring members fromI Was A Cub Scout, La Roux and Pictures, Brontide explore and experiment beyond the boundaries of instrumental music with explosive effects. With dreamy melodies cast adrift by frenetic, technical drumbeats and big guitar loops, it’s no wonder they have already gained a cult following.

After racking up Radio 1 airplay, a tour with Minus The Bear and shows with bands such as Don Caballero, Cut Off Their Hands, The XX, Rolo Tomassi and Pulled Apart By Horses in the UK, the band are taking their ferocious tunes Stateside for a digital release.

Recorded as one continuous piece of music, “Sans Souci” has been played on the road it its entirety throughout the UK and Europe to sold out crowds. The band will be continuing to tour in support of the album with a UK tour in February 2012.

Years before anyone with a YouTube account had ever heard of Toronto based musician John O’Regan and his electro-pop act Diamond Rings he comprised 25% of a rock band known as The D’Urbervilles. Alongside multi-instrumentalist Tim Bruton, bassist Kyle Donnelly, and drummer Greg Santilly, the band released one full-length album (We Are The Hunters) in March 2008. However, just minutes before the final show of their first tour in support of the record, O’Regan was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. The band was sidelined indefinitely while he underwent surgery and began a lengthy recovery process.

While convalescing, O’Regan released a series of limited edition singles and viral music videos under the moniker Diamond Rings that garnered praise Pitchfork, NME, and Rolling Stone. After touring for a year behind his debut album Special Affections and opening for acts like Robyn and La Roux, many predicted that The D’Urbervilles would eventually call it quits. However, contrary to popular opinion, the band has actually been holed up in their West Toronto jam space (which they share with perennial hardcore favourites Fucked Up) crafting a new sound and a new look to match.

Enter Matters, the latest incarnation of Toronto’s most beloved rock band. Juxtaposing punishing guitar riffs and sleek synth leads with an airtight rhythm section and O’Regan’s signature baritone, this is a band that quite literally defies categorization. Matters will release their debut single Get In Or Get Out on limited edition 7-inch vinyl (digital download included) via O’Regan’s own Hype Lighter imprint on Tuesday, April 5, 2010.

Matters will also perform select shows in Toronto and surrounding areas with grunge rockers PS I Love You in early April. Their full-length album is being prepped for a fall 2011 release.

Far East Movement’s (aka FM) chart topping smash ‘Like A G6’ was certified platinum this week selling over 1.1 million copies to date. The song remains at the #1 spot on the country’s Digital Song chart and #2 on Billboard Hot 100 for the second week in a row.

The group will be ‘geekin out’ at shows in November with ‘Bulletproof’ and ‘In For The Kill’ hit makers La Roux.  Far East Movement combine electro and hip-hop music for a high-energy downtown Los Angeles loft party sound and lifestyle called ‘Free Wired.’

“We want fans at our shows to feel free to let loose and ‘geek out’ however they feel comfortable. Our music and lifestyle is about bringing the energy and making sure everyone is having a good time,” says Kev Nish.
Earlier this week, 500+ fans packed the Hard Rock Café in Times Square New York for a chance to meet Far East Movement and see them perform at “Cherrytree Times Square” with label mates Mohambi, Colette Carr and Vincent Frank aka Frankmusik. The event helped raise awareness and funds for Hard Rock Café’s “Pinktober” campaign to fight breast cancer by donating proceeds from the merchandise sold to “Pinktober” fund.  The group also celebrated the album release of ‘Free Wired’ and signed hundreds of copies for fans.

Far East Movement have toured with Lady Gaga, N*E*R*D, Robyn, Kelis and Mike Posner this year.  If you haven’t seen their show yet, you’re going to want to on the following dates:
