Classixx ‘Hanging Gardens’ (Innovative Leisure) (Stream)

Classixx 'Hanging Gardens'L.A. duo Classixx release their debut LP ‘Hanging Gardens’ through Innovative Leisure.

Since their breakout 2009 single ‘I’ll Get You’, Classixx have been behind acclaimed remixes for Phoenix, Major Lazer, The Gossip and many more, as well as constantly touring. United by their mutual appreciation for gleaming melody, punk rock, disco and French house, their music is at once sunny, breezy and wistful, descended from similarly pop-minded melancholics like Fleetwood Mac, Prince, and Alan Braxe.

The album begins with nostalgic title track ‘Hanging Gardens’ a reference to one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Its reverie continues on haunting collaborations with Active Child on ‘Long Lost’, Superhumanoids singer Sarah Chernoff on the ethereal ‘A Stranger Love’ and the coastal, dreamy ‘A Fax From the Beach’. ‘Hanging Gardens’ concludes poetically with ‘Valley Vacation’, a reference to Classixx’s late-night escape from their old studio in the seedy heart of L.A.’s porn industry to their current Venice Beach sanctuary.

Track Streams:
– All You’re Waiting For
– Holding On
– I’ll Get You
– Borderline
– Valley Vacation
– Holding On (Jerome LOL Remix)
– Supernature (Hot Toddy Remix)

French Duo Housse de Racket release debut album Alesia on November 1st via Kitsune

Check out a sneak preview of the new album HERE!

French synth-rock duo Housse de Racketis back with a brand new album Alesia, out this August. Alesia comes as a follow-up to their wildly successful debut, Forty Love, which garnered critical acclaim. The first available track from the explosive new album Alesia, seen on Kitsune Maison 10, is “Chateau,” check out the remix HERE.

The French duo will be touring throughout America in December with fellow Frenchmen, pop trio Yelle.

For Alesia, Housse de Racket has teamed up with French super-producer, Phillipe Zdar (Cassius, Phoenix, The Rapture) to create a collection of eleven electro-pop songs in the vein of the bands’ own wide range of musical influences; from Ennio Morricone to David Bowie. The result is a unique compilation of tracks that embody the sound Housse de Racket has made famous, both through their first album and their live show. Recorded half in French and half in English, Alesia is an evolution of sound; a bold new direction for the bands’ sophomore album.

Housse De Racket, which translates in English to ‘tennis racket cover,’ are Victor Le Masne and Pierre Leroux. The two are highly sought-after musical collaborators with impressive resumes; they’ve worked with the likes of Chilly Gonzales, Phoenix, and Air.

The Rapture recently shared “How Deep Is Your Love?,” the first album track from In The Grace Of Your Love, along with Emperor Machine’s remix of the track via Adult Swim (downloads for both below!). Now, we’re excited to share the news of The Rapture’s first full U.S. tour in support of the album, which will see them on the road from late September through October!

The band has set the bar high with the first track, but this is just the beginning.  Produced by Philippe Zdar (Phoenix, Beastie Boys, Chromeo), the writing and recording process for In The Grace Of Your Love connected the band back to why they started playing music in the first place. Drummer Vito Roccoforte explains that they “focused on the process more than the results. We approached the album in a fearless manner, with nothing to lose.” By recapturing the fun and love for the process, the results were definitely a win.
