ZRCE BEACH, PAG ISLAND, CROATIA
Taken from SIS’ album ‘Confidance’.
- SIS’ 2nd album ‘Confidance’ charts his journey training as a horse whisperer
- Mysterious and elusive, his first releases on Ricardo Villalobos’ label and Cecille catapulted him to fame being named ‘Producer of the Year’ by Germany’s Groove Magazine and Raveline’s ‘Newcomer Of the Year’ 2008
- His recent releases on Crosstown Rebels and Get Physical have seen a return to form, expressing his wild, untapped musical passion
- Released on his own label, Cocolino it will include 10 bonus tracks from SIS with special remixes and dancefloor edits of some of SIS’ favourite tracks
There is a wild unbridled energy to Burak Sar aka SIS. At any moment, he will change character; each one of his faces is as emotionally believable as the next. The mischievous schoolboy, the brooding artist, the entertaining clown, the lovable rogue; with hints of criminality, insanity, and tortured genius all in one, and yet, as real and deep as the ink that covers his arms and chest.
That volatile mix is just who SIS is. With Turkish genes, a German upbringing, and a deviant teenage life that saw him tussle with ganglife, SIS is the exact opposite of the cardboard cut-out, squeaky clean radio DJ, his musical style red raw and smoky, as if cut straight from his soul. ‘Confidance’ is worldly wise and complex, much like the man himself. The 10-track longplayer is like an onion, you hear something new with each listen, peeling back its layers. Still a dancefloor album, it houses multiple personalities, world influences, and rampant passion.

Addison Groove (aka Antony Williams) started life under a different pseudonym altogether. Recording as Headhunter, with an LP and 12” releases on the influential Tempa label stretching back to 2007, he achieved legendary status within the dubstep scene. His work at the deeper end of the spectrum graced the label an impressive 7 times, a figure matched only by Skream. This work looked set to continue until 2010 when, seemingly out of nowhere, he crafted one of the biggest bass music tracks of the decade, ‘Footcrab’, under the new name of Addison Groove.
The response to ‘Footcrab’ was phenomenal, receiving critical and commercial success in equal measure across the dance music scene. Getting plays not only from the dubstep DJs that Williams was used to reaching, it also found its way into the record boxes of techno and house heavyweights such as Aphex Twin, Surgeon, Ricardo Villalobos and Mr Scruff, bringing an enormous new audience to his music in the process. Taking influences from the Chicago ghetto tek and juke scenes, Addison Groove’s impact on UK bass music has been colossal and unprecedented, sparking a huge interest in these styles from his peers and the listening public alike.
“Transistor Rhythm“, Addison Groove’s debut album, is a rare example of a release where the description “much anticipated” is not just a fantasy of some PR agent. The expectations are high, but we are convinced nobody is gonna be disappointed. Hear for yourself!

Detroit prodigy Kyle Hall, the talented Brodinski and the new young sensation, Skrillex are also set to perform.
New brands mulletover and Birmingham’s Face will join the UK night army including Crosstown Rebels, Resident Advisor, Mono_Cult, Sonodo, Drop The Mustard, Urban Nerds, Jaunt, Just Jack and many more at intimate and large scale events across the clock.

Meet Tshetsha Boys
A bobbing, minimal groover from the Berlin corner — haunted by its Shangaan muse in the wafting, abstract manner of their recent ECM renovations, but more dug-in and funked-up over the ten minutes.
And icily original, top-dog work from the Bristolian — tense and bristling, tethered between a kind of arrested Highlife and a techno breakout.

Named the “the leading avant-garde techno label” in the world by De:Bug Magazine, Macro celebrates it’s fifth anniversary with the stunning two-disc “Macrospective” compilation.
Two DJs, one tracklist. Probably for the first time in the history of dance music a release focuses on extracting the pure sound signature of the DJ. When the tracks to choose from are limited to one playlist, the sequencing decisions and mix styles of the DJs reveal their individualities as well as the different possibilities the music allows when formed into one continuous stream. “Macrospective” is the first conceptual double mix offering a one on one comparison of the art of DJing with two masters of the craft – Macro founders Stefan Goldmann & Finn Johannsen. But you’ll also love it for being a comprehensive retrospective of one of the most intriguing contemporary label catalogues in electronic music.
The two mixes highlight key works of the label (including poll winners The Maze, Law Of Return, Arcade & Lunatic Fringe), bringing out the versatility and individuality of each track. Great music allows for more than a single interpretation. Who could better suggest one than the A&Rs behind Macro and the resident DJs at the label’s residency at Berlin’s legendary Berghain club?
Finn Johannsen’s mix is a one-take live journey through build-ups, peaks and comedowns, but also detours, distractions and surprises. Stefan Goldmann’s alternative take is a carefully constructed “architectural” mix, locking specific turning points of the tracks to form an 80 minutes dramatic composition of Macro’s essence. By the way, both DJ mixes are vinyl mixes. In an era of dull mp3s, the aesthetics of Macro’s carefully cut record releases are the basis for this double album.
Accompanying the CD release is a Beatport exclusive unmixed compilation of Macro tracks entitled “Macrospective – Vinylism.” This companion release offers digital downloads of tracks transferred from vinyl with the aim of offering versions with a true “vinyl effect.” This will enable digital DJs to get the same sound as vinyl DJs.
About Stefan Goldmann & Finn Johannsen:
Stefan Goldmann has not only produced some of the most significant tracks of the last five years (The Maze, Sleepy Hollow, Art of Sorrow), but also delivered a string of delicately conceptual works, ranging from a “minimally invasive” edit of Igor Stravinsky to a “change all” remix for Fennesz. Going beyond the known and established has become his operating principle. Often his works split critics down the middle – the distortion excess of “The Maze” or the Japanese bent of “Arcade remix” were met with accolades on one side and harsh criticism on the other. Nevertheless, the more heat a track received, the more devastation it caused on the dancefloors of the world’s leading clubs and festivals.
Finn Johannsen is a DJ since the 80s, and over the years he played numerous national and
international gigs. He is a sought-after mainstay of Berlin’s vibrant club scene and beyond and his widely acclaimed mixes and radio shows are all over the web. Finn Johannsen also gained high profile as a music journalist with highly regarded writings for De:bug and Groove Magazines, Resident Advisor and several other print and web media publications. He also works for the legendary Hard Wax store.
