Swanken is Sean Levisman and Jonathan Schwab, two white boys on an epic quest to find that elusive thing called soul. The duo hails from Miami, so you’d be forgiven for presuming that they cater to South Beach’s revolving door of crass commercial dance music fads. But actually they’re in pursuit of nothing less than pure classic house perfection, taking their cues from Chicago, New York and the UK. 2010’s Come Back With The Love on Musical Missionary was an auspicious and precocious debut, garnering warm reviews by international DJ luminaries like Nick Warren, Ashley Beedle, and Graeme Park. The follow-up, All I See on Miami’s petFood label, further established Swanken as serious boogie purveyors and an act to keep an eye on. Get a load of the luscious soulful groovage on 2012’s Get Up EP on So Sound Recordings and you’ll know why.
