Melody Calling EP Out Digitally August 13

 

Band Will Complete North American Tour Dates With Mumford And Son And Phoenix This Fall

   

The Vaccines have released a stream of “Do You Want A Man (John Hill and Rich Costey Remix)” in anticipation of the August 13 release of their upcoming EP Melody Calling.  The EP was recorded in March at Eldorado Studios with producers John Hill (Rihanna, MIA, Santigold) and Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys).  The track can be heard here: https://soundcloud.com/the-vaccines/do-you-want-a-man-remix

 

The Vaccines made recent appearances at Governor’s Ball Festival, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.  Later this month the band will join Mumford and Sons for 12 show across the U.S.  After that they’ll play a handful of west coast headline dates before they join Phoenix for a handful of more U.S. dates (full list of date below).

 

The Vaccines are: Arni Arnason (bass), Freddie Cowan (guitar / vocals), Pete Robertson (drums) & Justin Young (vocals / guitar).

The BBC Sound of 2011 list aims to highlight the most promising new music for the year ahead. The artists on the list were chosen by 161 UK-based tastemakers, who each named their favourite three new artists, with the top 15 artist making our longlist.

In early January BBC will reveal the top five and the Sound of 2011 winner. The tastemakers are experts in current and new music, whose tastes and decisions are regularly reflected in the media and are capable of setting the musical agenda and influencing audiences. Our panel is made up of newspaper and magazine editors and critics, producers and presenters from music radio and televison, website editors and respected bloggers.
