RELEASED 21 OCT
Since launching in 1993, the Top 100 DJs Poll —powered by Trackitdown — has grown to become the definitive yardstick of the world’s most popular DJs and the biggest music poll of its kind in the world.

Ministry of Sound and DJ Mag have joined forces for the second consecutive year with a 3 CD album release including a selection of the Top 100 of 2013 across CD 1 & 2 and a special edition bonus CD of the best voted DJ’s from the past 20 years. The 3 CD package includes all of 2013’s Top 10 and all past Top 100 winners.

CD 1 features the current leading names in the electronic dance music scene including Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, Hardwell, Porter Robinson, Knife Party, the first ever Top 100 winner, Carl Cox, and David Guetta.

CD 2 includes iconic acts that have pioneered trance and progressive house such as Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, Orjan Nilsen, Dash Berlin, Lange, Markus Schulz and Cosmic Gate to name but a few.

The 3rd CD is dedicated to the 20 year anniversary with legendary names and tracks that have dominated the history of dance music. True icons such as Tiesto, The Chemical Brothers, Sasha, Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, Eric Prydz, Deadmau5, Paul Van Dyk, Frankie Knuckles and Paul Oakenfold amongst others, deliver a fitting climax to the album.

To tie in with the album, DJ Mag are hosting the official Top 100 DJs poll announcement party at both Amsterdam’s infamous ADE and in London in association with Ministry of Sound on the 19th October at Electric Brixton.

ABOUT THE TOP 100 DJS POLL
In 2012, Armin van Buuren was crowned the No.1 DJ for a record fifth time, toppling David Guetta. Other previous winners include Tiesto (three times), Paul van Dyk (twice), Paul Oakenfold (twice), Carl Cox (twice), Sasha and John Digweed.

Klangkarussell-imageKlangkarussell featuring Will Heard’s ‘Sonnentanz (The Sun Don’t Shine)’ is the deep house anthem that bears all the hallmarks of becoming one of this summer’s biggest dance hits.

Originally an instrumental that first bubbled away on the underground late last year before becoming a No.1 singles chart and radio airplay hit across Europe, ‘Sonnentanz’ is the work of Austrian house duo, Klangkarussell aka Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held. To date, the instrumental has amassed over 25 million views on YouTube.

‘Sonnentanz’ now features a killer vocal from 21 year old British rising star, Will Heard, the hotly tipped singer/musician gaining recognition for his blend of jazz, folk and soul. Having taken time out to travel through Cuba, Argentina and Brazil, Will returned to the UK last year and signed a publishing deal with Trevor Horn’s Perfect Song. He’s recently been in the studio writing and recording new material with the likes of Billy Mann (P!nk John Legend), Justin Parker (Lana Del Rey, Rihanna, Ellie Goulding), Baby Daddy (Scissor Sisters, Kylie Minogue), and Future Cut (Lily Allen, Rizzle Kicks).

The vocal version will be released on 4th August via Island Records.
Remixes come from Jakwob, Ben Pearce and more

On June 7, Nervous Records presents the debut CD from rising DJ/Producer/Remixer Sydney Blu. Titled, Live From Mansion, this release showcases Sydney’s DJ skills and ability to work a big club, but also leans heavily on her talents behind the boards as a producer and remixer. In fact, the compilation contains nearly 80% of Sydney’s own original productions and remixes.

Download Want Sombody – Sydney Blu & Christian Falero (Original Cover Mix )

A native of Thunder Bay, Canada, Sydney Blu went to school for audio engineering in Toronto where she spent countless hours learning the craft from studio engineers. After teaching herself Ableton Live and spending a lot of time with her producer friends like Trent Cantrelle, Christian Falero, Funkagenda, & Joel Zimmerman (AKA Deadmau5), she has completely dove into producing her own music.

Following the success of her releases (including the chart-topping ‘Give It Up For Me’ on Mau5trap Recordings being one of Beatport’s highest selling songs and making Sydney the only female electronic producer to ever have a top 10 hit on the website), Sydney Blu developed and founded her own record label Blu Music, which has produced several chart-topping singles over the past year, with her remixes of the True Blood theme ‘Bad Blood’ and a re-edit of Jefferson Airplane titled ‘Want Somebody’ topping the charts for weeks. All of Sydney’s releases received consistent support from global heavyweights such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Deadmau5, Roger Sanchez, Paul Oakenfold, Funkagenda, Robbie Rivera, Chuckie, Oscar G & more.

After moving to Miami in the spring of 2010, Sydney quickly set-up her residency with Opium Group and Mansion Miami – the hottest club on South Beach. In just one year Sydney’s local profile raised tremendously and culminated with her own sold out Miami Music Week 2011 “Blu Party” featuring John Dahlback, Thomas Gold, Tommy Lee and Aero feat SOFI live, Kim Fai, Trent Cantrelle, Christian Falero & Manufactured Superstars. Watch the recap

Her new home in Miami provides the backdrop for a truly exciting moment in Sydney’s career – her first artist CD – Live From Mansion. While the mix was recorded live over the course of one evening at Mansion, the project took nearly a year to complete. That’s because Sydney wanted to create a CD that was leaned heavily on her own brand new original tracks and remixes. “Its 80% my own music and it feels SO good to be finally releasing it all. Remixes, Collaborations and Original work – it’s all there. The album is representative of me as a producer, a DJ, and my signature sound all in one,” Sydney says.

2011 is already proving to be busy with original tracks and remixes set for release on Spinnin Records, Vicious Records, Funkfarm Records and Juicy Records, all leading up to the release of ‘Sydney Blu: Live at Mansion’. Catch Sydney on the road throughout the summer!

Sydney Blu – Live From Mansion is released June 7, 2011 on Nervous records.

Moscow’s rising-star Denis A and his DAR label are firing on all cylinders having returned from a summer tour of huge events in Ibiza, Germany, and Ukraine. With DAR016 (Sith / Korriban) currently causing a commotion, its time to unleash the next instalment from Moscow’s finest – DAR017 (Das Auge / Beholder). Denis A is on a creative roll in 2010, having already unleashed a series of stunning tracks, he is making his mark around the globe with each new release.
Das Auge is a delicious slice of deep dark groove creation, that shows exactly why Denis A’s progressive attitude is turning so many heads right now. Beholder shows a different side to Denis A’s production skills, with its tech bounce and swagger. These tracks are highly suited to that late-night territory where things can get a little bit twisted. As usual, they will sound amazing on a big sound system thanks to the mastering skills of Robert Babicz.
You might also like to delve into some of the DAR back catalogue on your audio travels. For example, Ocean (DAR010) with its lush, hypnotic melodic beauty, and anthemic shimmering energetic Monaque Remix, has remained on people’s playlists for months, and has been getting repeated plays from Sasha. Denis has also unveiled some of the hottest new Eastern European remixers from Russia, Ukraine, and Slovenia, over two Remix EPs (DAR011 Part 1 & Part 2), with their interpretations of some of the DAR label’s best tunes to date… Chemical Test, Heaven and Mirage. Since then, Denis A has continued to blur the boundaries between genres with more timeless electronic dance music in the form of Brutalizm and Muai Thai In Bangkok (DAR102), and the intense acidic analogue atmosphere of Test Drive (DAR013) and superb percussion fuelled Ahnenerbe (DAR014). Finally, don’t miss out on the intense elongated epic Z (DAR015) with its superb euphoric breakdown. If you were a fan of that whole “Northern Exposure” vibe, you’re going to love it!
