The time has come for a number of producers to try their hands at these songs, with DON RIMINI, ASTRONOMAR, DONOVANS and SWICK at their respective helms for the Bass Kick Remix EP. DON RIMINI‘s take on “Bass Kick” is club-friendly house, filled with percussive and bass elements that’ll keep the crowd moving. The hip-hop touch for “Bass Kick” is provided by ASTRONOMAR, fusing breakbeats with the electronic elements we know and love. “TRT” is a garage highlight for 2013, and the DONOVANS remix goes one step further, taking the vocal one shots and piano leads of the original “TRT” and adding in a distinctly hard and distorted kick to amplify the drop portions. The SWICK remix of “TRT” turns up the dub end of things, opting towards a phat lead and tight hi-hats galore. Whether it be house, hip-hop, or garage, the Bass Kick Remix EP has something for everyone.

BOT & TAI: “Nuthin But Fire” EP Out Now on Dim Mak Records(Stream)
Posted in News with tags BOT & TAI: “Nuthin But Fire” EP, Boysnoize Records, Crookers, Dim Mak, Dim Mak Records, Electro, Electronic, Experimental, Southern Fried, Stream, Turbo on September 20, 2013 by J.D.Producers BOT (formerly of the world famous Crookers) and TAI join forces on the newly released Nuthin But Fire EP, available now on Dim Mak Records.
Combining BOT and TAI, two producers from starkly different backgrounds and genres, could be risky. Instead, the result of this sort of collaboration evolves beautifully with the release of the Nuthin But Fire EP, four tracks of teamwork genius. Totally unique and impossible to categorize, the Nuthin But Fire EP stands heads above the rest with its blend of jungle and ‘90s breakbeat sounds. In the presence of two producers who truly understand what it means to make groundbreaking music, Nuthin But Fire blazes through the speakers and provides a sound that is unforgettable.

After selling out venues across the world as The Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77, Sir Bob Cornelius has announced the release of his first collection of remixes, Best Of… Remixes (Out Now, Dim Mak). Since the Bloody Beetroots project began turning heads back in 2007, Sir Bob has amassed a series of impressive remixes, ranging from his cascading remix of The Chemical Brothers “Dissolve” to the reworking of The Refused’s “New Noise.” Spanning 18 tracks, plus five digital-only cuts, these remixes are available in one package, available now and including his work with Robyn, MSTRKRFT, Vitalic, The Whip (download The Beetroots’ remix of “Muzzle #1” HERE) and Tiga. Full tracklist below.
Since the project’s debut four years ago, Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo has pushed the boundaries of dance music, incorporating elements from disparate genres and styles that range from the drive of hardcore punk to sweeping arrangements drawn from Rifo’s time studying Chopin, Beethoven, and Debusey. From “Butter” to “Cornelius” to the Steve Aoki assisted “Warp 1.9,” The Bloody Beetroots’ early singles dominated clubs across the globe, paving the way for the group’s debut full-length Romborama. The album was a star-studded affair that featured guest appearances from everyone from Justin Pearson (The Locust, All Leather) and Vicarious Bliss to The Cool Kids and J*DaVeY. The record was followed by the Spares of Romborama Series, which included Xmas Vendetta and The Domino EP. Touring the globe with his partner in crime Tommy Tea, the project earned a reputation for his sweaty, two man DJ sets. Last year, The Bloody Beetroots further expanded his setup, reimagining the poject’s music as The Bloody Beetroots DeathCrew 77. A dramatic step forward for him , The Bloody Beetroots became a live band with Rifo on guitar, bass, and synths,Tommy Tea on controllers, and The Beetroots’ newest member Edward Grinch on drums.

You’d be forgiven if it’s been hard to keep up with Joshua “Hervé” Harvey over the last few years. Performing under a number of pseudonyms — The Count, Speaker Junk, Young Lovers, to name just a few — Hervé has scored more hits under more names than practically anyone else coming out of the U.K. underground. With the release of Best Of and Cheap Thrills Volume 1 via DIM MAK, keeping up with Hervé will get a little easer. Compiling the U.K. producer’s most iconic tracks, Best Of serves as a primer of Hervé’s work since he started releasing bass club monsters as Speaker Junk back in 2006. Released in conjunction with Best Of, Cheap Thrills Volume 1 collects the best-of-the-best of Hervé’s label Cheap Thrills.
Living up to its name, Best Of is an impeccable collection of Hervé’s most iconic tracks. There’s the dark, tech-y beats of “Hardcore Girls,” which Hervé recorded with Sinden as The Count & Sinden. “Scratch Up the Music” features Hervé’s foray into hard house, and Hervé’s collaboration with Marina Gasolina, “Baseball Bat” sounds like something Sleigh Bells would’ve recorded if they’d been raised on Massive Attack.
Cheap Thrills Volume 1 compiles the best tracks that have come off Hervé’s budding U.K. label, Cheap Thrills. With hits like Fake Blood’s “Mars” and Hervé and Kissy Sell Out’s “Rikkalicious,” it’s easy to see why Cheap Thrills has been described as the U.K.’s answer to Ed Banger. His Majesty André and The Bloody Beetroots grab disco by the balls and unleash a massive club track entitled “Puppets.” Max Morrell brings a more traditional house sound into the mix with “Seeliko,” while Midwest duo Glamour’s “Rubbin & Bumpin” serves as the unlikely meeting point between electro and dubstep.
Joshua ‘Hervé’ Harvey first hit the dance scene in 2007 with a string of 12” releases on Switch’s cutting edge Dubsided label. Following his Dubsided hits, Joshua set up Cheap Thrills Records as an outlet for his own releases and the best of the best from the U.K. underground. It was around this time that Hervé started breaking into the mainstream, remixing everyone from Bloc Party, Lily Allen and the Chemical Brothers to Sam Sparro, Marc Ronson, Calvin Harris and The Prodigy.
