Laid Back But Hella Prolific,
Rich Hil Drops Another New Track,
“Bad” (Featuring Travie McCoy),
From His Latest Mixtape, “Limosa Nostra Act 1″
(Grab it here)
“The Connecticut native channels influences as varied as Lil Wayne and Jimi Hendrix, while musically alternating between smoothly crooning sticky melodies at times, and spittin’ fierce and intricate rhymes at others.” – Complex.com
Don’t let Rich Hil’s relaxed style fool you – this is a man who never sleeps on a chance to hit the studio. Garnering frequent comparisons to fellow rhymers Weezy and Cudi thanks to his stoner drawl and psychedelic meanderings, Rich is actually more of a singer than a rapper. But when it comes to churning out new tracks, he certainly seems on course to challenging Weezy’s record-setting output!
This month Rich has popped out another new mixtape, Limosa Nostra Act 1, a packet of laid back summer jams, darker introspective tracks, and cool guest appearances, including his collaboration with Travie McCoy, “Bad”.
A taste of what the blogs have been saying about Rich Hil:
“If you haven’t heard Hil’s stuff yet, it is a MUST. I am in love with it.” – Musically Amusing
“Switching between singing and rapping, Hil is a good addition to some of our current favorites, and with his good taste, is on our radar.” – Groove Effect
“There’s a vibe that artists from Cali exude — this cool calm, unrushed, seemingly effortless flow. Rich Hil is not from Cali, but he personifies that same type of delivery. He’s mellow with just enough punch to remind you that he’s a New Yorker at heart.” – Eargasm
“I very rarely listen to a hip-hop song and think, ‘wow, this is original’… But when I busted open the new Rich Hil mixtape, my excitement for hip-hop stirred itself back up. His voice is a bit of a mix between singing and rapping, sort of in the vein of Lil Wayne. His lyrics are ridiculous, and I mean this in the best way possible. The stream-of-consciousness feel they give off is almost soothing but given a deeper listen the lyrics prove to be effective and thought provoking. Needless to say, this kid is something special…” – Green Shoelace
“…he’s killing it right now…” – Good Music All Day
“I’ve thought Rich Hil was dope since I got a listen to his last mixtape “Limos Were Cool In The 90’s.” The emcee is back and has collaborated with Boo Bonic, who you may remember as one half of Philly’s Most Wanted.” – Art Nouveau

Spotlight, Floodlight – Polarized, is the debut album of instrumental, cinematic and often mysterious songs from keyboardist Peter Adams. Performed primarily on Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, Polarized blends the influences of Bill Evans, SIgur Ros, and Erik Satie into a thick sonic atmosphere, where upright bass, and double drums interplay with Mellotron and wordless vocals.
