Boys Noize “Out Of The Black – The Remixes”February 3rd

On February 3^rd, Alex Ridha AKA Boys Noize will release Out Of The Black – The Remixes, a stunning collection of remixes from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Justice and Chromeo and unreleased remixes from Audion (Matthew Dear,) Oliver, Jimmy Edgar and MMM to name a few. The album also features the Blood Diamonds remix of ‘Got It,’ the Snoop Dogg collaboration first performed at Ultra Music Festival in Miami (view live concert footage HERE.) The video of the original, featuring the legendary rapper himself, will be released in January.

The remix album will be released on Boysnoize Records (BNR), a label founded in 2005 by Alex himself in order to retain full artistic freedom while releasing his own music under Boys Noize and other monikers.  BNR quickly became a home for multidirectional and quality electronic music and the Berlin-based anarchist collective recently celebrated their landmark 100^th release from a plethora of artists such as Spank Rock, Siriusmo, Housemeister, Strip Steve, SCNTST, Djedjotronic, Boody & Le1f, Peaches, UZ and of course the whole Boys Noize back catalogue of albums – debut ‘Oi Oi Oi’ (2007), follow up ‘POWER’ (2009)and latest full-length ‘Out of The Black’ (2012). In the last few months, Alex has also released his highly acclaimed FABRICLIVE 72 ( HERE) and BNR’s ‘Boysnoize Present Dance Mania’ (stream HERE.)

It’s been a year since the magnificent ‘Dark Is The Sun’ first enchanted listeners back in 2011, and we’re thrilled to announce the next installment of mesmerizing non-contemporary jazz byThe Greg Foat Group with their new album Girl And Robot With Flowers.

Evading the dreaded ‘second album syndrome’ with consummate ease, Girl And Robot With Flowers is a sonic soundscape of epic proportions that leaves Dark is the Sun in the dust while propelling the listener into infinity and beyond!

With a doff of the hat to sci-fi writer Brian Aldiss, we’re whisked off on a thematic journey into the emotive and enthralling realms of cinematic jazz, seductive ambience and exciting, majestic drama. Often unpredictable and certainly never dull, British pianist/composer/arranger Greg Foat uses everything from brass bands and kettle drums, to Moog synthesizer and harmonium, to take us above and beyond the stratosphere of our senses.

As with Dark Is the Sun, this album was recorded in a unique, pure analogue studio in Sweden to capture the full warmth and dynamic range of the wide variety of instruments utilized. The spacious, high quality sound that was achieved by recording direct to tape through high quality vintage equipment is absolutely impeccable, revealing in stunning detail a magical atmosphere the likes of which is rarely heard in the current climate of digitalization and mp3s.

Over the years Greg Foat has collaborated with musicians and artists such as Wendy James, Questlove (of The Roots), The Black Lips, and Justice and The Bees. This past year has been a busy one with tours of Europe and the UK, exposing their music to seasoned audiences; Jamie Cullum, Chris Evans, Gilles Peterson, Craig Charles, Ozwald Boateng, Helena Christiansen, Jude Law, Benicio Del Toro, Lindsay Lohan are just a few of the many faces who have enjoyed the music of The Greg Foat Group.

An experimental turntablist from Chile-by-way-of Spain, DJ Raff’s debut album ‘Latino and Proud’ is a fusion of bass-heavy electronica and futuristic instrumental hip-hop, sounding something like Flying Lotus mixed with DJ Shadow. Brighton-based duo YOU LOVE HERE COZ SHE’S DEAD’s album on Glasstone Records is out now digitally and available on CD October 31st 2011.

YOU LOVE HERE COZ SHE’S DEAD’s album release follows an iTunes featured ‘Hot Picks’ debut EP, singles, remixes & compilations on Kitsuné, EMI & Glasstone, and music appearing on films (Teen Wolf) and TV Shows (Skins).

The album is a collection of 10 tracks (some re-worked and some brand new) that Elle & Jay felt made sense together and are a good representation of their collaborative creative efforts.

The album was entirely produced and mixed by YLHCSD and mastered at The Exchange in London by Nilesh Patel (Daft Punk / Justice / Mr.Oizo / Björk / Underworld).
