Watch Tinie Tempah In The New Video For ‘Tsunami (Jump)’

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on January 24, 2014 by J.D.

Tsunami 042013 has seen 3 No.1 singles for Ministry of Sound, with hits coming from Bingo Players, Duke Dumont and Storm Queen. With 2014 in its sights, the world’s most successful dance label is gearing up for its next crossover hit with DVBBS & Borgeous’s ‘Tsunami (Jump)’, with a new vocal from Brit superstar, Tinie Tempah, following his previous featured hits with Swedish House Mafia and Calvin Harris.

The epic performance video was directed by Fred Rowson, who commented:
From the moment I heard this track with Tinie’s vocal, I knew that the video would have to be visceral, distinctive, and have real swagger. I wanted it to be iconic, with an industrial, almost gothic aesthetic that we’ve created through the colour scheme and the physical installation that we built. The choreography is central to the way the video develops, and I took Rick Guest’s Royal Ballet photography as a reference point for how we’d portray this. We’ve edited the performances so they build in intensity to really capture the tone of the music“.

The instrumental of ‘Tsunami (Jump)’ has already hit No.1 across Europe and on Beatport, clocked up 60 million collective YouTube views, over800,000 Soundcloud plays, and received repeat UK radio support from Radio 1’s Zane Lowe (who has just premiered the vocal version on Radio 1), Pete Tong, Diplo, Danny Howard, Greg James, Diplo and Annie Nightingale, plus spins from Mistajam at 1Xtra. To date, the track has spent 14 weeks in the Shazam Top 200 chart, peaking at No.13 in the Top 20 pre release chart.

DVBBS are Canadian brothers, Alex and Chris. The duo’s early singles ‘Initio’ and ‘DRVGS’, have taken the global EDM community by storm, and with shows alongside Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Rusko, Eric Prydz, Dada Life, Borgore and Steve Aoki, they’re rapidly becoming one of North America’s hottest live DJ tickets.

LA’s Borgeous is another producer riding the crest of EDM’s next wave. His original productions ‘From Cali WIth Love’, ‘GANGSTEROUS’, ‘Rags To Riches’ and ‘Aggro’, alongside remixes of Rihanna’s ‘Pour It Up’ (with The Cataracs) and his reworking of Ciara’s ‘Goodies’, have brought him much acclaim in 2013.

The inimitable Tinie Tempah has just dropped his second album, ‘Demonstration’, featuring collaborations with Diplo, Pharrell, Zane Lowe, Paloma Faith, Labrinth, Naughty Boy, Dizzee Rascal, 2 Chainz, Emeli Sandé, Ellie Goulding and the Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands.

Following the success of Showtek’s ‘Booyah’ and Martin Garrix’ recent No.1, ‘Animals’, ‘Tsunami (Jump)’ is the next harder-edged EDM anthem to cut through in an ever-shifting dance music landscape.

First Listen: Sebjak ‘Follow Me’ (Remixes) Out 10th December 2012 on EMI Music

Posted in News with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on November 28, 2012 by J.D.

Following the release of Sebjak’s definitive Summer anthem ‘Follow Me’, an impressive selection of talent has been collected on this diverse remix package.

“Follow Me” was Sebjak’s first release on Positiva Records. Following support for the original Mix from Andi Durrant (Capital FM, U.K.), among others, and charting on the Music Week Cool Cuts and the DMC Buzz Chart, this Summer saw the release of the new vocal version. “Follow Me”’s epic irresistible vocals, massive hooks, delicate keys and emotive chord play made it a definitive Summer anthem. Now ‘Follow Me’ is getting the remix treatment from a diverse lineup of talent, with Gregori Klosman, DEVolution, Mike Hawkins and Jerry Rekonius all putting their own spin on the original.

Having watched the rise of his fellow countrymen, Sebastian Jak set out to become the next success story in Sweden’s already impressive dance music history. By 2006, Sebjak as he was now known started to produce music of his own. Having pricked the ears of the likes of Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso with his fresh and energetic approach to production, Sebjak was asked to remix for the world-acclaimed Size Records with fellow producer AN21.

His stock rose immediately and Sebjak began to pull in the attention from the biggest DJs and producers in the world. Erick Morillo and his Subliminal label were next to release the young Swedish producer, unleashing his collaboration with Richard Grey, ‘Pump Up The Volume.’ David Guetta and Tiesto were just two of the single’s many supporters.

Remixes have also seen the 24 year old Swede add his deft touch to Laidback Luke, Arno Cost and Norman Doray’s hit, ‘Trilogy’ which was released on Luke’s own imprint Mixmash, in addition to Swiss Official vs. Kings Of Tomorrow ‘Changes’ which saw another release on Size Records. Sebjak was also responsible for a killer remix of Mogui’s ‘We Want Your Soul’ which went on to be bootlegged by Swedish House Mafia for their famous hit ‘Leave The World Behind,’ the track they decided to close their Masquerade Motel residency in Miami 2011 with.

Sebjak is a regular behind the decks in clubs around the globe. From England to France, USA, Germany, Israel, Swiss, Dominican Republic, Morocco, Serbia and Brazil, which has become his favourite place to tour, Sebjak has rocked them all. Standout gigs have included LIV in Miami, Subliminal Sessions at Arkadia and an incredible performance at Summerburst in Stockholm in front of 12,000 people. When not out on the road solo, he can spotted with any other top name from Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, AN21 Max Vangeli, Bob Sinclar, Norman Doray, Arno Cost, Laidback Luke, Moguai, David Tort, Avicii, David Guetta, John Dalhbäck, Eric Prydz and beyond.

Guy J & Henry Saiz – Meridian ( PRYDA Remix)

Henry Saiz – ‘La Marea’ ( Dosem Remix)

John Digweed’s Bedrock Records recently celebrated a milestone 100th single release in superb style with two of the best tracks that you could hear this year, from two of the most creative young producers in the electronic dance scene– Guy J and Henry Saiz. Now it’s time to continue the celebrations with two of the best remixes you will hear this year from the mighty Eric Prydz and one of the hottest rising stars of 2011, Spain’s Dosem.
In this day and age to not only survive as an independent label, but also to flourish and constantly evolve, bringing forward new and exciting talent, is something that should be applauded. A mark of the global respect and love that Bedrock has steadily gained through years of releasing quality dance music that rides the waves of trends and fashions is the fact that the Bed100R remixes received over 20,000 listens on Soundcloud by word of mouth before they were even announced! So, it is hardly surprising that this remix package is currently one of the most highly anticipated releases of the moment and quite rightly so, since it features two absolutely stunning reworks of the amazing original tracks.
Sweden’s superstar Eric Prydz, in his Pryda guise, proves he is worthy of the acclaim and respect he receives worldwide as he takes apart and re-designs Guy J and Henry Saiz’s joyously beautiful “Meridian”, creating a truly astonishing anthemic remix that will surely prove to be one of the musical highlights of 2011?
Catalan producer and DJ Marc Dosem is unquestionably one of the hottest rising stars in the electronic dance scene. His bold debut album, “Parallel” (Sino), was released to much critical acclaim in the summer of 2011, further cementing growing respect, having already unleashed massive tunes such as “Silent Drop” and “Beach Kisses”. His unrivalled ability to harness glistening melodies, taking listeners on a trip through wondrous realms of emotion, make Dosem the ideal candidate to rework his fellow countryman’s extraordinary “La Marea” and his mind-blowing remix is one of the best you will hear for a long time to come.
Once again, its hats off the Bedrock for raising the bar even higher with these exceptional remixes, the mark of a truly exceptional independent dance music label.
